September 6th, 2026: Kahoka, Missouri — Round 7 (Final Round) of the CoalTrain Energy Missouri State Motocross Championship Series …

The Mo State Series wrapped up in Kahoka, Missouri on Sunday with a hot, dusty race at a legendary track.

With Bill out for the season, the 2OG was solely reliant upon Mark Coffman to bring home results.

With the final Round being a combined Missouri State Series/Mid-America Series race, the competition was fierce. With double the normal number of races in the +50 Vet, getting the holeshot and staying at the front was the goal for MC39.

Moto 1 went as well as could be expected. Despite a slight hesitation on the gate, Coffman entered turn one in second and held that position for the first lap before going down and having to fight his way from the back, ultimately finishing in 7th. (Mark’s initial thought was fifth, but with two classes on the track at once time and without Bill and others from the 2OG present, it was hard to determine the actual finish order).

Moto 2 found the full sun baking the track in 100° temps and the hard pack had developed deep chuckholes, causing multiple crashes in races leading up to this moto.

Coffman watched the gate carefully and then took a leap of faith, timing the drop in his mind. This strategy worked, launching Mark to the front and battling with points leader Mike Libel for the first two laps.

As he thought he might, MC39’s lack of time for physical conditioning again caught up and he began fading on lap three, but held on to fight for Sixth against the rider who’d finished ahead of him in Moto 1.

Despite multiple pass attempts, Coffman held his position through the final lap, finishing 7/6 for Seventh Overall on the day and retaining his Third Place in the Series Points standings to solidify 3RD Overall in the 2026 CoalTrain Energy Missouri State Motocross Championship Series.

Congratulations to Mark Coffman on a hard fought Third Place 🥉 in the Series and to all of the 2OG efforts during what turned out to be an extremely challenging return to motocross!

More to come …

Bill spent some of the muddy ground morning printing the track banners for the Coffman Outdoors Beta USA Ride Experience event.

This 21-foot long “Finish Line” banner seemed to tie up the smaller, (24”), printer forever!

Something about this photo just screams “Bill!” 😂

The entire county is dry as a bone and nothing but dust, but he managed to find the one, 4’ x 6’ mud hole and backed right into it. 🙄

Let’s be honest, is ANYONE surprised to see this?

July 26, 2026: Round 4 (Rain-out Make-up) CoalTrain Energy Missouri State Motocross Championship Series at Grain Valley MX, Grain Valley, Missouri

Another positive weekend for the 2OG at Round 4 of the Mo State Series with another pair of 4th/5th finishes.

Perhaps the most notable gain for the team came from Mark Coffman's getting the holeshot in both motos. While he faded back to his previous position late in each race, MC39 took the early lead and ran with the prior race leaders for much of both motos, which definitely hints at things to come.

"I went down on Saturday to get a feel for the track, which neither of us have seen since Bill and my boys raced the same series back in 2001. It was good to get some extra time on the bike. When we initially decided to do this, I had no idea that I'd be so swamped with work that I wouldn't be able to make time to practice, but that's what it has been all season. I've been trying to race my way back into shape and form and that just isn't a good way to go. My starts were great and the first 2-3 laps felt good, but I've got to work on stamina so I can hold the pace for the whole race. I'm getting there."

Bill Little has been racing himself while the knee continues to get stronger, focusing on improving each race. While his overall was equal to the 5th place finish in the previous round, he wasn't personally happy with his ride.

"It's like one step forward and two steps back at this point. I re-injured the knee at therapy early last week and can't seem to get the swelling down, but that has nothing to do with my performance at Grain Valley. I thought I'd finally licked my post-crash mental hangup with ruts in the last round at Bar 2 Bar MX, but for some reason that came back in the second moto this weekend. I rode better in Moto 1 than I've ridden since coming back from the injury, but for some reason in Moto 2, I started hyper-focusing on every single rut and actually went down on the final lap because of it ... and Grain Valley isn't even a rutty track for the most part! It's just something I've got to get past. I'll be working on it at home for the next three weeks and hopefully I'll find my speed and clear my head of this block by Round 6 in mid-August."

Official standings are now posted with Mark in 3rd overall - 15 points out of 2nd and Bill now in 4th overall for the Series.
