🎉 One week later, and the excitement from a memorable championship is still in full swing at Summerville Country Club!
🏆 Congratulations to Cory Deering, the champion of the 53rd “Chick” Miler Invitational! A sudden death playoff with Jack Ellis began on #15. Both golfers continued the playoff with impressive shots. Deering ultimately chipped in from #17 sand trap for an extraordinary win!
🏆 Also, please join us in congratulating Bob Asbell, the champion of the “Bufort Blanton” Senior Division! We are thrilled to celebrate you and your outstanding accomplishment!

❄️ We figured it might be tough to find your shots in the snow so the golf course will be closed tomorrow (Saturday, January 31st) and on Sunday, February 1st!
⛳️ Please help us out by staying off the greens and keeping carts on the paths only! This is critical to the protection of the turf, preventing long-term damage, and ensuring the course remains in good condition!

🇺🇸 Did you know Mr. Bufort Blanton, our Director of Golf, served in the military after graduating from The Citadel? On Veterans Day, and every day, we thank him and all the men and women who have courageously served our country! 🇺🇸
Excerpt about Mr. Bufort from “The Tea Farm - Her People and Her Town: Summerville, South Carolina:”
After graduating from The Citadel in 1954, Bufort played professional baseball in Halifax, Nova Scotia, before he entered military service as a U.S. Air Force 2nd Lieutenant. Soon thereafter, he was pilot of a jet bomber with Strategic Air Command.
