Jumping Into a New Week!
——————————————-
Jump training- While it may not pack on pounds of muscle or help shred fat it has its place in a well designed training regiment. Jumping helps improve the firing pattern between your neurons and muscles which in turn improves force output. This increased force output allows you to move more weight when lifting and improves coordination allowing you to train safer when chasing that dream physique! Shoot me a DM if you have any training related questions and happy Monday!

Reversal Strength
——————————-
The Soviets had a five tier classification of athletes in their sporting world. Class 1 was your amateur athletes. Class 5 or Master of Sport would be your top 1% (think NFL players to high school players I’m the US). They tested all these athletes constantly to find the differences. The major one that stood out was the elite athletes ability to RELAX their muscles much faster than the lesser athletes. This is what we train when we do speed work. It’s not how much weight can I move. It’s how quickly can I get back off that box with as much speed as possible. That’s the game changer. Speed. Speed Kills.
🧘 Stretching Re-Approached:
The actual mechanisms of static stretching very rarely come into question when people have tightness or pain. Everyone just knows that when you stretch you feel better. But that tightness and pain inevitably comes back, right? So what’s going on? When you stretch you are really just helping get your body get conditioned to that pain and not respond to it, which isn’t inherently bad when dosed properly but not all the time. Instead, try treating the underlying issues that are causing the pain in the first place. Hint: it’s very rarely actually a flexibility issue. More often than not it’s a strength problem, especially strength in range. Contd⬇️....
The Sn**ch:
Possibly the most daunting movements that can be performed in a gym from both a technique standpoint and a strength perspective. This is my personal progression over the course of about two years, self taught. What’s missing are the hundreds and hundreds of assistance and technique drills I performed to get me there. While you can learn to sn**ch on your own, you are opening yourself up to the possibility of ingraining poor technique and it will take exponentially longer than being under the eye of a trained coach. Total Body Training, aka making the most of your time. This one has more of a bias towards lower body while still aiming to get a good balanced session in. Give it a shot if you want to move some heavy weights and build up your weaknesses all at once. Also threw in a little sweat session at the end, enjoy!

Colder weather is coming! Often this forces us indoors or we start using treadmills rather than walking outside due to the cold. But what if the cold weather was an opportunity to actually mobilize more fat than standalone cardio alone? Follow the link in my bio to see the reasoning behind a brisk early morning walk!

We all live hectic, unpredictable lives so it’s important to have a good hierarchy of what should be first and last priority for our goals. For changing the composition of the body it begins with nutrition first and foremost, closely followed by sleep. With just these two things dialed in you’d be amazed at what sort of progress you’ll see.
Then we focus on the actual workouts and training. This is where you not only lose weight and body fat but also begin to add muscle to get the “shape” that you are after.
Finally, supplements. Too often this is the first priority when in reality it’s the icing on the cake. Supplements are never a cure all but well timed, strategic supplements can help achieve an even greater result and physique.
Keep these in mind the next time you are busy and tired yet still try to squeeze that workout in. More likely than not it’s going to harm your progress rather than benefit it.
