17 COMPETITORS!!! 🤯🥋

Yesterday, 17 Touchstone students stepped onto the floor at the Capital City Open Karate Championships!

Our Academy represented incredibly well. Our students gave it everything they had, supported one another, and most importantly, had a TON of fun doing it.

But one of our favorite parts of the day had nothing to do with medals, trophies, or placements.

We had students who weren’t competing show up anyway. ❤️

They came to watch. They came to see what tournament competition was all about. But more than anything, they came to support their teammates.

There’s something pretty special about looking into the crowd before you compete and seeing familiar faces from the Academy cheering for you. Nobody asked them to be there. They simply wanted to be.

That’s what being part of Touchstone Karate Academy family looks like. 🥹❤️

And it wouldn’t be a tournament without competition, and WOW, was there some fierce competition! 🔥 Win, lose, or somewhere in between, stepping onto that floor takes courage, and every one of our students gave us something to be proud of.

A huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Plummer for hosting such an amazing, welcoming, and inclusive tournament as always.

17 competitors. Teammates in the stands. Families cheering. A whole lot of memories made.

Days like yesterday remind us that martial arts may be what brings us together, but the people are what make it special. ❤️🥋

September 11, 2001 began as an ordinary day.

Families ate breakfast. Parents kissed their kids goodbye. People left for work, caught flights, made plans for dinner, and assumed they would all be home that evening.

Then, in a matter of moments, ordinary became unforgettable.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders, service members, and everyday people who stepped forward when others needed them most.

For many of us, 9/11 is a memory. For younger generations, it is history. But perhaps one of its most lasting lessons is something very simple.

Don’t take the ordinary moments for granted.

The morning goodbye. The family dinner. The hug at the door. The laughter from the other room. The people we expect will still be there tomorrow.

Sometimes the most ordinary moments are the ones that matter most.

Never forget. 🇺🇸

Kinderkickers is a program designed to support the massive growth kids experience from 4-6 years old. Their P.I.E.S. are booming! Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, & Social skills.

📚 Happy First Day of School! 🎒

For many of our students, today is the big day, while we know some of you started this past week!

A new school year brings excitement, new opportunities, and sometimes a few nerves too, and that’s OK. New teachers, new classrooms, new friends, and new challenges are all part of growing.

And to all of our parents, we know today can be a big day for you too. Whether you’re sending them off to kindergarten, middle school, high school, or somewhere in between, watching our kids take that next step is exciting, nerve-racking, and maybe even a little emotional. ❤️

We’re incredibly grateful that we get to be one small part of their journey and watch them grow both inside and outside the Academy.

We can’t wait to hear everyone’s first-day and first-week stories!

Students, be confident, be kind, and be yourself. Parents, take the pictures, give the extra hug, and be proud of the amazing young people you’re raising.

Mrs. Koster, Mr. Pierstorff, and the Touchstone team were truly honored to be invited to participate in the Indians of Sun Prairie Janmashtami 2026 celebration yesterday! ❤️

We had the opportunity to take the stage and perform alongside so many talented groups and performers. More than anything, we were grateful just to be included in such an incredible celebration of culture and community.

We met some amazing people, watched incredible performances, enjoyed a wonderful meal, and had the chance to learn more about the cultures and traditions represented right here in our community.

These are the opportunities we really value. They give us a chance to step outside of what we normally do, expand our own understanding, and appreciate the diversity that makes our community special. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel like we belonged.

It was also really cool seeing some of our current and former Touchstone students there, whether they were performing themselves or simply spending the day supporting their friends, families, and community.

A huge thank you to the Association of Indians of Sun Prairie for inviting us, welcoming our team, and allowing us to share the stage with so many wonderful performers. We are humbled and grateful to have been a small part of such a great day. ❤️

Just a reminder to all of our Touchstone families that our new school year class schedule officially begins TONIGHT!

We’re starting the new schedule before everyone heads back to school so families and students have a chance to adjust to their new class times before school schedules, homework, activities, and everything else kicks into gear. One change at a time! 😊

Please double-check your class times before heading to the Academy tonight.

We’re excited to get everyone settled into the new routine and keep smiling, sweating, learning, and growing together! 🥋💪
