🎭 2026 GRANT FINALIST | ARTS + CULTURE

For more than 75 years, The Bay Theatre has been a place where people gather. Now, The Bay Community Theatre has a vision for what comes next.

Their proposed Live at the Bay! initiative would transform this beloved Suttons Bay landmark into a fully equipped, year-round venue for live performances and shared community experiences expanding what’s possible beyond the movie screen.

A $120,000 Impact100 TC grant would help bring that vision to life with professional sound and lighting, live-event technology and critical infrastructure improvements. The result? More concerts, comedy, speakers and community programming without the expense and limitations of renting equipment for each event.

And the impact reaches beyond entertainment. The Bay already welcomes thousands of people each year, supports programming for students and seniors, partners with local organizations and provides a year-round gathering place in Leelanau County. Expanding live programming would help The Bay reach even more people while creating a stronger, more sustainable future for the theatre itself! ✨

A walking guide is created which includes the name of the participating merchants along with the artist they are hosting and a winery if they so choose to sponsor one. Receive a stamp on the walking guide & enter to Win $150 in Gift Cards from participating businesses!
