DOUBLE DIP! đź’Şâšľ

It was another perfect day for the Atlanta Red Sox as both the 25+ and 18+ squads picked up big wins to remain atop their divisions.

The 25+ Red Sox found themselves in a heavyweight battle against the reigning champion Ci**rs. The Sox struck first when Don Ferbert launched a solo home run to make it 1-0, but the defending champs answered and built a commanding 10-3 lead.

The Red Sox refused to quit.

Trailing by seven entering the 7th inning, the Sox erupted for 8 runs to storm back and take the lead. Matt Kempf, Ferbert, Teddy Pratt, Michael Oliveira, and Eric Clayton all delivered clutch hits during the rally. The Ci**rs answered with a run in the bottom half to tie the game, but Pratt came through once again with a go-ahead sacrifice fly to center field in the 8th.

Kempf, who entered in relief in the 7th inning, slammed the door shut by retiring the side in order in the bottom of the 8th to secure the victory.

With the win, the 25+ Red Sox improve to 6-1 and take over sole possession of 1st place.

The 18+ Red Sox kept their unbeaten season alive with a 4-2 victory over the Orioles behind a dominant performance from Jake Carden on the mound.

Scott Hines got the Sox on the board in the 3rd inning with an RBI triple before Carden helped his own cause with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. In the 4th inning, Hector Carrasquillo drove in another run, and Ferbert followed with an RBI of his own to extend the lead to 4-0.

The offense was done for the day, but it didn’t matter. Outstanding pitching and airtight defense carried the Sox the rest of the way as they secured the 4-2 win. Jonathan Allen getting the save with a perfect 9th.

The victory moves the 18+ Red Sox to a perfect 6-0 on the season.

Game 2 of the 25+ Peach State Classic saw the Atlanta Red Sox matched up against the ATLiens in a hard-fought battle that came down to the final inning.

The Red Sox came out swinging, jumping to an early 3-0 lead before the ATLiens battled back to even the score. The two teams traded punches through the middle innings, with the ATLiens taking a 5-3 advantage into the top of the seventh.

With tournament officials reducing game times to two hours, the seventh inning would be the final frame, and the Red Sox weren't ready to go quietly.

Back-to-back walks opened the inning, followed by a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt from Jonathan Allen that moved the tying runs into scoring position. With two outs and runners on second and third, Josh Colliver delivered in the clutch, ripping a double into the left-center gap to tie the game at 5-5. Moments later, Ben Blumenthal lined a single to score Colliver from second, completing the comeback and giving the Red Sox a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom half of the inning.

Unfortunately, the ATLiens answered with two runs of their own, securing a 7-6 walk-off victory.

The loss was especially tough to swallow as weather-related schedule changes reduced the tournament to just two pool-play games. With no opportunity to recover in the standings, the defeat ended the Red Sox's bid for a third consecutive Peach State Classic championship.

A heartbreaking finish, but a resilient fight from a team that refused to quit.
