Muscle isn’t just about looking strong. 💪
Skeletal muscle is one of the most important tissues in your body for movement, glucose regulation, metabolism, and maintaining physical function as you age.

More muscle can mean a greater reserve when your body faces illness, injury, or physical stress.

That’s why building and preserving muscle is about much more than aesthetics — it’s about health, resilience, and staying capable for longer.

You don’t need to become a bodybuilder.

Strength training, enough protein, regular movement, and consistency can go a long way.

Build muscle. Protect your future self. 🔥

SARCOPENIA — is the medical term for the age-related loss of muscle mass, strength and physical function.

Starting around age 30, adults can lose roughly 3–8% of muscle mass per decade, with losses becoming more pronounced later in life. For women, the menopausal transition may further contribute to declines in muscle mass and strength.

And we don’t just lose muscle — we lose function. Strength can decline even faster than muscle mass, affecting our ability to climb stairs, get off the floor, carry things and stay independent as we age.

That’s why after 40, exercise shouldn’t be just about burning calories. It should be about building something: muscle, strength, power and physical capacity.

Resistance training can help us build and preserve that reserve for the decades ahead.

Train for the life you want to keep living.
