A ππ°π¨-ππ’π¦π πππ¬π¬π’π ππ°ππ«π π°π’π§π§ππ«, Hope spent over 20 years as a powerhouse performer and choreographer with ππ₯π―π’π§ ππ’π₯ππ² ππ¦ππ«π’πππ§ πππ§ππ ππ‘πππππ«, is an original member of ππ¨π¦π©π₯ππ±π’π¨π§π¬ ππ¨π§πππ¦π©π¨π«ππ«π² πππ₯π₯ππ, and a former ππππππππππ! dancer. Her work has been commissioned by leading companies worldwide including Ballet Black in London, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Philadelphia Ballet, BalletX, and four acclaimed pieces for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater!
As a director and movement director, she has brought her creative vision to The Public Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, and Bucks County Playhouse. With the support of a prestigious she created π©πππππ πΊπππ & πͺππππ, a film, now on PBS, exploring identity, body image, and colorism. She presented States Of Hope, and evening-length, dance theater work at the Joyce Theater, for HopeBoykinDance to great acclaim.
Hope also serves as Artistic Advisor for Dance Education at the Kennedy Center, Founding Director of Kennedy Center Dance Lab, and Artist-in-Residence at USC Kaufman, shaping the next generation of artists. In 2024, she founded ππππ«ππ¬ ππ¨π₯π₯ππππ’π―π, empowering creators in dance, theater, music, and film to refine their craft, build community, and amplify their voices.
Boykinβs new creation will premiere on October 4th at The Soraya in Northridge, CA! This piece will feature music by Leonard Bernstein, and will be arranged by Graham collaborator, Christopher Roundtree !
We canβt wait to see this piece come to life on stage this historic season with the Martha Graham Dance Company!
