It was a cool reunion of former Boom players this afternoon as Katie (at bat) faced Aleena (catching) and Chloe (second base) in a matchup of CNY Monsters teams. Some of you may remember Aleena threw the first pitch in Boom history when we faced the Boston Slammers in Stockbridge, MA.

What a weekend at the Maria Pepe Tournament on Long Island for OG Boom players Emma and Sarah! Emma was almost unstoppable at the plate, going 8-for-9 with six RBI for the 14u Liberty. Sarah helped the Wonders to the 16u title with a 6-for-10 showing.
If your daughter is interested in playing in a girls tournament, we’d highly recommend it. They can sign up as a free agent. DMV is next month.

Huge congratulations to our coach Nadia Diaz, one of just 40 players across the country who made the training camp roster for the US Women’s National Team.

We had an awesome start to the 2021 season last night. We'll have more photos soon, but for now: Zoe Davis -- our awesome friend and soon-to-be Syracuse University master's graduate -- took some portraits after practice. We see strong, athletic, funny and confident young women in these photos. Thanks, Zoe!

We're thrilled to share some news: We've changed our team name and logo. Going forward, we will be known as the Upstate NY Boom.
When we launched in 2019, we chose the name "Boomers" in part to honor the historic "bloomer girls" baseball teams. Since then, the word "Boomer" has taken on a different meaning in popular culture, and we thought Boom was a more modern direction.
Our logo was developed by Alex Adler, a talented artist and female baseball player with the New York Wonders. So awesome! Check them out!
It's not too late to sign up for the season. Register here: https://boomers.typeform.com/to/jHCrmSgA
See you all at practice Sunday!
