When he first came to us, he was trying private Pilates lessons as a last resort, only after being told that he would need spinal surgery. He has arthritis, spinal stenosis, osteoporosis, and he's in his 70's.

I started working with Reed in August of 2018. After 8 sessions he left for his annual winter trip, but in those 8 sessions, we accomplished a lot. So, I gave him a homework plan to stick to while he was away. He found that being consistent with his personal practice exercises gave him temporary relief from back pain. Overtime he's noticed postural improvements and less pain overall.

He has never done a backbend like this before.
THIS IS #PilatesPROGRESS

Soon enough, he will be off again for the winter and then we will pick it back up in the spring.

Our approach is what sets us apart.

" To be honest, I am amazed and a bit bewildered by the magnitude of change achieved with these seemingly simple exercises. It is strange to experience these changes firsthand and try to process the what and the how because it feels a little bit like magic. I think that is the beauty of somatic movement...It appears simple and effortless but with the right intention significant physiological changes are possible. To be more specific, I felt a release of tension in my sacrum, aka the angry baby, which affected the position of my pelvis and helped to elongate my hip flexors, and relax my neck. Later, I felt a sense of calm and relaxation. "
