I have been practicing martial arts for 54 years. I served in the Korea 3rd Ranger Unit and was the first fighter on the Combat Taekwondo team while serving. In 1989, as a member of the Korea Mission Taekwondo demonstration team, I traveled to 12 states in the United States and did Taekwondo mission work. In 1990, I immigrated to the United States at the invitation of the Midland County Police Department in Texas and served as a martial arts instructor for the police department. I moved to Washington State in March 1992 and opened Kwon's TKD. In 2002, I was a founding member of the Lakewood City Police Department in Washington State, a PLANK OWNER, and was the first police martial arts instructor. I also trained many students in Mixed Martial Arts such as Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Gumdo.
