Empowering youth, improving health, and providing an inclusive space for all people to learn and grow

The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other. Working locally, we focus on empowering young people, improving health and well-being, and inspiring action in and across communities. By bringing together people from different backgrounds, perspectives and generations, we ensure that we all have access to the opportunities, relationships and resources necessary to learn, grow, and thrive.

For more than 115 years, the YMCA has been a part of the Bremerton community.

From its roots as an Armed Services YMCA downtown to today’s Bremerton Family YMCA, Marina Square Express YMCA, and future plans for expanded early learning and community spaces, the Y continues to grow alongside Bremerton.

The story is still being written, and starts with the people, families, staff, and partners who make this community strong.

For more than 20 years, Michelle Wells has helped bring the arts to YMCA members across Pierce and Kitsap counties. What began as a dance-focused program has grown into opportunities in visual arts, music, theatre, culinary arts, and more.

Today, YMCA arts programs serve approximately 4,300 participants each week, giving children and adults a place to build confidence, express creativity, and discover their passions.

When Annee first came to the Y, they relied on a motorized scooter and were rarely able to walk on their own.

With the support of the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, Enhance®Fitness, and financial assistance, Annee lost more than 50 pounds, regained their mobility, and found the confidence to keep moving forward.

A Healthy Future For All means making life-changing programs accessible to everyone, regardless of where they start.

What happens when kids put down their phones and spend a week in nature? They discover confidence. Build lasting friendships. Explore the outdoors. And realize they can have fun without a screen.

For Owen and Bernice, YMCA Camp Seymour helped them reconnect with nature and build habits that last long after camp ends.

Giving young people the opportunity to unplug and get active outdoors is one way we’re building A Healthy Future For All.

Some of the biggest impacts happen when no one is watching.

Through rain, cold, and quiet seasons, volunteers Rick, Mary, Bruce, and Helen have dedicated countless hours to restoring and improving YMCA Camp Lake Helena, creating spaces where kids can explore, grow, and make lifelong memories.

Their story is a reminder that A Healthy Future For All is built by people who invest their time, talents, and hearts to strengthen our community.

Sometimes, all it takes is one trusted adult to change the course of a young person's life.

For youth at the YMCA Evening Center, Rob is that person. His encouragement, accountability, and unwavering belief in their potential helps young people see a future beyond their current circumstances.

His investment in the next generation is a powerful reminder of how we create A Healthy Future For All.

In 2025, we served over 130,000 members and provided more than $3.7 million in financial assistance. Behind every number is a story.

An older adult who discovered connection and better health. A teen who found a place to belong. A neighbor who discovered a healthier, more connected life.

Our 2025 Annual Impact Report celebrates what we accomplished together, and the community we're building every day. Over the coming days, we’ll share stories that show how we're fulfilling our vision: A Healthy Future For All.
