WE’RE BACK IN MAVERICK CUP SERIES VICTORY LANE!

Joseph Landy-Pavlon pulled off his second career Maverick Cup Series win in tonight’s race at EchoPark Speedway, ending a four year dry-spell!

JLP, despite being plagued by a fever and chest cold, elected to show up tonight. A few laps in practice resulting in motion sickness didn’t stop our owner/driver from staying committed, even after the opening laps of tonight’s race when he considered pulling off. Landy-Pavlon stayed patient all night, working strategically with his teammates to run towards the front.

It paid off. A caution flag generating a three lap restart to the finish allowed Landy-Pavlon to slide in second behind Keith Hughes who had struggled with tires towards that point of the race. A controversial block that sent two cars crashing coming to the final lap allowed JLP to get a run on Hughes on the outside, and he played the final lap just right! That #68 Jewish National Fund-USA Lexus was a rocket ship all night.

Carnby Edward finished 8th, Austin LaPlante finished 24th after leading 14 laps, and Dannicol Matthew finished 35th after crashing nearly halfway through the race.
