During this heatwave lots of air conditioners need extra love. This one was no longer cooling and a bad compressor was suspected. Upon inspection, I found bad wiring to the compressor which was arcing and had burnt through. The cause was due to loose crimp connectors on a high current draw device. After a rewire of the compressor, everything is working and cooling as it should.

A bad capacitor was what was keeping this unit from cooling. A lot of times the entire unit does not need to be replaced, only the parts that are bad. What I do is find out what is actually bad. I don’t like guessing.
