Great work!

Task Force 4 update. We have had very busy days of rescue work. The team has been working sun up to sun down conducting search and rescue missions in beacon hill and mexico beach. We have extracted numerous victims. The only available comms in the county were those established by marc 5, our central florida marc unit (from winter park) assigned with Task Force 4. Ambulance strike team 501, from central florida, has transported numerous patients to the closest operational hospital which is 3 hours away. The ambulance strike team is running the county's 911 calls as they come in. We have a landing zone established at our base of operations and medevac choppers are flying in and out of here around the clock. The army comms unit has joined us at our base. We established our water purification system to have drinking water and clean water for showers. We are happy to report on day 4, the team has finally gotten to take showers. As of tomorrow, we will begin to work north and east conducting search and rescue operations, as our air recon missions have found large amounts of damage in those areas. Today, our medical manager alex ralls and his squad, treated a pt they found while flying drones. The squad bosses bill zielonka and jeff hansen called for a chopper and for nearly an hour in the field, while awaiting a medevac chopper, the team successfully extracted the victim, provided ALS care and drug administration, all while landing their own bird at the forward operating area. Florida Task Force 4 was the first boots on the ground in Port St. Joe , beacon hill and east mexico beach. We still have several days of search and rescue missions to clear the port st. Joe area. Our search canines and their handlers Marsha Hall and Susan Wesley are working piles to help us locate victims. We miss our families but the necessity of our work keeps us driving on. Thank you, for your support. We will update as comms permit.

Thank you and be safe...

Our hearts and thoughts are with our fellow Floridians affected by Hurricane Michael.
We stand ready to help.
Sheriff Jerry L. Demings is sending 46 OCSO personnel assist with the devastation from Hurricane Michael.
It is all part of the Florida Sheriffs Association mutual aid agreement.
The 46 deputies will be assigned to Panama City.
Included in the deployment team will be 20 members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), a chain-saw team, Marine Unit members with airboats and other vessels, and two members of our Fleet team to assist with any mechanical repairs.
The OCSO personnel will be 100% self-sufficient with food, RVs and supplies, as to not take away from the efforts to help those affected by the historic hurricane.
We will be there to provide safety, comfort and relief to the victims.
