At 900 FPS, the 230 grain XTP is pretty slow. But the knockdown power of a piece of lead that heavy has shown its effectiveness.
Seller of raw and processed brass for all your reloading and hobby needs.

100 perfect 230 grain XTP. Just adding a light crimp and they are done. Max load of CFE Pistol and CCI 300 with mixed headstamp brass.

Decapped, full length sized, sorted by primer pocket, and expanded these 45 ACP. Cleaning the primer pockets now and throwing them in the dry tumbler. Making 230 grain XTP tonight.

I didn’t have to adjust the crimp die at all on these. Just one benefit of using new brass. These will all sit exactly the same in the chamber.

100 9mm 124 grain Hornady FTX with Accurate #7. The key to not crushing the hollow points and causing seating depth variation is consistent brass. I made this batch with new Starline. Many manufacturers uses very stiff brass that will cause excessive neck tension even if flared properly. I suggest using softer brass like Hornady and Starline. The tapered nature of the case can causes a lot of issues. Roll sizing helps, but will not fix everything.

325 grain FTX in .458 SOCOM. The seating die left the little rings. I’m going to get Lee to make me a custom seater for this die and invest in a better expander mandrel to eliminate it. For $2.50 a round, I don’t want rings.

Made it the last 100 of the 500. I’ve been at it since 4 am. Time for a nap. I will wake up and finish these so I can start on the 325 grain FTX .458 SOCOM with ACC 1680 and CCI large pistol magnum primers. Starline is made for a LPM primer although I have smashed in some LRP and they worked fine. Key word is smashed.

500 more mixed head stamp 223 out of the tumbler. Fully processed except for the flare, chamfer, and primer pocket polish. These have been extremely consistent since I switched to Dillon carbide dies.

First 100 55 grain Hornady FMJ with Benchmark and CCI #400 done. I crimped all by “feel”. I will make a video of how to do this later. Crimping by feel ensures that every round has the exact same neck tension so none are over or under gassed.

I couldn’t find accurate load data for those 300 grain Interlocks so I got the 325 grain FTX instead. Going to use Lyman 50th edition data. I did have Lee generic data and could have made them work, but I’m sticking to projectile specific data especially when the loads are over $2 each.

Making 300 223 with Bechmark, 100 with H335, and 100 with ACC 2200. They will all be made at the exact velocity by load data and will be shot out of a 22” 1/7 twist barrel. I’m guessing Benchmark will win the accuracy test, but H335 also has good results.

Going to make another 500 223 and 50 more 458 SOCOM. The 223 is in the tumbler now. As usual, we will load to the .10 grain and .001 seating depth.
