I see so many videos on instagram all about "financial freedom"

And I see it portrayed as making multiple six figures

Having zero debt

Investing lots of money

Starting an online business.

Moving to other countries.

And all these "rules" of how to feel financially free

And as someone who once did NOT feel financial freedom at all

And now I DO feel lots of freedom with my life and money, here's what I want to share.

The debt I paid off, most of the money I saved started with a 9-5 job.

When I quit that job, I had good savings and had hardly made $1,000 in my business.

I quit with the intention of getting a part time job while I grew my business.

My business didn't take off over night.

It took me 3+ years to make "good money"

And most months I still don't make what I did in my previous career.

But I still feel freedom with money.

Not because of some magic solution.

Not because of paying off debt.

Not being owning a business makes you rich.

I feel financially free because I've learned to be happy with where I am IN THIS MOMENT.

(And sometimes I get impatient, I'm not perfect)

I've learned to genuinely feel happy with where I'm at (while working towards my other goals)

I've learned how to take time away from work when I need it.

I've learned how to have FUN in the day to day, where previously I always had the itch to travel and be on the go.

For me, when I originally wanted financial freedom, what I actually wanted was to feel happy and peaceful in my day to day life.

Having lots of money if a fun bonus for sure.

But having little to no money stress.

Little to no guilt when spending.

Little to no fears around not having enough.

THAT feels like freedom.
