🏎️🏎️Monday Race Weekend Recap🏎️🏎️

This weekend was a true test of endurance, featuring extreme heat and a grueling schedule. Arriving late Saturday and missing the initial practice Friday left us with no baseline data for the car. During the second round of practice Saturday, a fuel leak resulted in a fire and a blown front crank seal out of the timing cover. Thanks to an incredible team effort, everyone rushed to ensure we made qualifying. We initially timed in 3rd fastest before the faster cars hit the track, ultimately settling into a 20th-place starting position that locked us into the main show.
Dakota started on the inside of the 11th row and, after a demanding two-hour race, finished 15th out of 25 cars with the car still in one piece. In the Pro Crown Vic division, we asked Mike Wilson to pilot the car to provide valuable setup input and feedback. Unfortunately, a combination of a low-power motor and a broken steering rack prevented us from achieving the results we were aiming for. Shelby subsequently stepped in for her Crown Vic event, finished the race 7th out of 12 cars.
As a team, we have decided to take a scheduled break to thoroughly inspect the car before the next race.

🏁 More Than Just Racing: Building the Future of Our Sport 🏁

Last night at Showtime Speedway during the bus rides and backpack giveaways, we had a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

While handing out coloring sheets of Miss Piggy, team pictures, flags, and glasses, we overheard a little kid ask their parent, "Mom, why don't other drivers do this on a regular weekend?"

We’ve always loved interacting with the kids, but that moment really put things into perspective. We realized just how much young fans look forward to the little things—not just watching the cars on the track, but actually getting to meet the drivers and feel like a part of the team. With late nights and parents eager to head home after the features, post-race pit access isn't always an option for families.

Seeing all those kids come down after the races for autographs and photos reminded us that they are the absolute future of racing.

Because of that, Wolfanger Racing is making a commitment. Moving forward, you’ll see us out in the stands at our tracks doing a little extra for the fans—giving kids more opportunities to connect, meet the team, and share our love for the sport.

Not every race day goes according to plan, but today was a true testament to resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving at Showtime Speedway. After rushing over from a car show and missing practice, we jumped straight into the heats where Miss Piggy felt incredible. Unfortunately, a spin on the final lap ended our heat early, but the car showed great potential.

Heading into the feature, we faced unexpected lineup changes and a drastic handling shift that made the car extremely loose. When a severe steering vibration forced us to pit, consulting with Brandon ultimately revealed a broken lower ball joint. Thanks to quick thinking and listening to our instincts, we pulled off safely before a potential failure could result in something worse.

Beyond the mechanical challenges, it was a fantastic day connecting with new fans and supporters. A sincere thank you to my husband for his endless patience and support, as well as the Rudolph family and Wesley Tillis for their invaluable help today.
