Clients have been asking how they can improve their VO2 ever since the buzz and many podcast talks of longevity.
The good news is this can be marker can increase with other modalities other than just the first thought of “oh no does that mean I need running”.
Clients book a boxing session with Luis this week and let him show you how this session type works your VO2 capacity. The session will also include core work and ballistic style lifts.
How do I improve VO2 and how to put it together?
Here’s some conditioning formats that mimic rounds like boxing and give you the VO2 work:
These can be done with almost any tool:
Round intervals: 3 minutes hard / 1 minute easy × 6–10 rounds
Short VO₂ repeats: 30s hard / 30s easy × 10–20 minutes
4x4 protocol: 4 minutes hard / 3 minutes easy × 4 (classic VO₂ builder)

As we inch toward our 20-year anniversary at Driven Fit, I’ve been reflecting on how the fitness landscape has shifted (and sometimes spun itself in circles). Everywhere you look lately, a “boutique this,” “hybrid that,” or “wellness-club meets gym + spa + cryo-lounge” emerges. It’s fascinating, but also a little alarming.
Over the past four years especially, many facilities have tried to stand out by layering on shiny add-ons, fancy branding, and “all the bells and whistles.” But somewhere in that push to look premium, corners are cut, in staffing, in quality of programming, in actual collaboration inside the walls.
We’ve never chased that route. From day one, we centered our business on two simple but powerful truths:
1. Deliver the best personal training + modalities
We believe the core of what we offer must work, every program, every coach, every session. We invest in people: in their education, integrity, and collaboration. Even when trends say “go do X new class format,” we test, validate, and adopt only what genuinely helps our clients.
2. Support smart recovery & consistency
Results are not because of the beauty of our studio, they are because of the consistency in helping people train, recover, and stay well. We built systems, protocols, and a culture around that.
Because of this, 18 years in, we’re still here. We’re not rebranding weekly. We’re not chasing what’s “trendy this season.” We’re refining what works, alongside our clients.
