This photo means so much to me. I am one month 6/4 post-op from . I haven’t told many people cause I was/am an athlete. I loved & still love Crossfit and Olympic weightlifting. The past few years I didn’t love me. I was getting dizzy spells more & more with the more weight I put on. My health was deteriorating so fast as the scale kept creeping up. To make a change in the cycle I had to go the surgery route. Which is by no means the easy way out. Liquid diet for over a month as my surgery was delayed. Then learning how to eat again. Was just a few of the problems that I faced. I have fun talking with people now instead of stuffing my self when out with friends & enjoy making food for my family. I love going for bike rides around our amazing neighborhood. to have my health back & getting back into CrossFit and lifting is truly what makes this golden.
Some things everyone can take away from the beginning of my journey
1. Protein first. Keeps you full. Is the foot army for your muscles to get repair&nutrients.
2. Throw away the scale. Measure yourself neck, upper arms, chest, waist, hips, thighs, &calfs. fit of clothes is a great measurement if you don’t want to tape.
3. Movement & weightlifting. NO you won’t get bulky if you lift weights!!!! Muscle burns energy &looks better on our body then fat, also I want to stay independent in my older years & keeping strength is the key. Pick up something that takes effort also. 5 lb weights are great but only for about a week/ month. Something that gives you muscle fatigue will build muscle faster & you will be burning calories just sitting when you have extra muscle on your bones. Cardio is great and builds endurance & strengthens the heart muscle. Combine the 2 & it is a combo for longevity. 
4.Keep it real. Answer the questions that will be asked. Always stay true to you. I love the changes but my path is different then another’s path. I am learning every day what I can & can’t eat. How far I can push myself.
