At first I deleted this post this because I did not want anyone to see my shameful past. But if it helps someone else who felt like I did, then that’s what matters.

What did I learn this year?

Pride (aka lack of humility) is not just deadly to one’s mental and physical health it destroys so many parts of our lives including the relationships with your family, friends, and God.

Avoid the issues and swallow an anti-depressant or whatever your drug of choice is (I.e., alcohol, ci******es, social media, shopping, gambling, binge eating, television, staying busy, over working, etc.)

Sweep the problems under the rug, instead of facing the truth, which is, I need to work on my mental, physical, and spiritual health. Work requires effort and facing the truth. Work is hard…

Choose your hard.

It’s incredible what happens with a clear head.

With a cloudy or scattered brain you think to yourself, I don’t need to change. I’m not doing anything wrong. I don’t need professional help. I can do this by myself. I’m a good person. These are the same prideful thoughts that led me back to the darkness, isolation, and self-sabotage. Exactly what the enemy wants.

A 12 step program will make you face yourself and the way you treat others. Am I impatient? Am I self-absorbed, ungrateful, self-righteous, etc.? Me, me, me, and I, I, I?

A wise sponsor once told me “the world is a mirror, the faults I find in others is a reflection of what is going on with me.”

You don’t meet many people that will confess out loud “I was wrong,” and mean it. Think about it, when was the last time you said “I am so sorry,” and asked for forgiveness without expecting to deserve it? We don’t usually do that because me, me, me…

Some will read this entire post and prove my point but, someone will read it, and desire to take a good look at themselves and say being a “good person” doesn’t mean anything if I have destroyed my life or hurt others.

Be the change…

One of my go to store bought brands is Amy’s Kitchen. Very filling vegetarian meals that are not in plastic containers. This one is 400 calories. 😉

Thank you Lord for this progress 🙏🏽 I may not be where I want to be yet but, thank God I’m not where I was. I would like to hide this period of my life but sharing it may help someone else.

I have a loooooong way to go to reach my goal, and I am not stopping. A lot was learned about myself this year…more to come with that.

Officially began again in April of 2024, but I started a structured at-home fitness program approximately December 2024. This is just for documenting progress.

Nearly a full year of food tracking, asceticism, my favorite at-home workout program, and cycling on alternating days. 🚴🏾‍♀️

This calendar shows me checking off each day of a different workout with resistance training and/or with cardio and HIIT (high intensity interval training).

Everything was done as low-impact in order to reduce strain on my lower back and joints. Just because your workout is low-impact doesn’t mean it is not intense 😉

Thank you Jesus ✝️ 🙏🏽 A lot of progress was made and I look forward to the next year 👏🏽

When it’s too cold to exercise outdoors, I make sure to have a good intense indoor workout regimen pre-established so you break my routine during the winter.

This is a little video of a lower body routine I did, after a 40 minute low-impact kickboxing workout. 🐈‍⬛

The lower body burns the most calories because these are largest muscles in the body. You don’t need a bunch of gadgets and equipment. Keep it simple.

A few bands you can keep in one small decorative storage bin can be your indoor gym option.

No. it’s not going to cost $20 for a giant month’s supply because the ingredients are high quality.

Sure you can buy many “protein shakes” and meal replacement shakes from the shelf, but do you care what’s in it? 🧐 If not, then go for it…your body will tell you later whether it’s good or not. 🤷🏽‍♀️

You get what you pay for 😉 and there are many drinks we can pay for that cost way more than $5 per serving 😏

Here is what is in mine. No sugar added vegan blend:
