We're not perfect. We all make mistakes.

Maybe you skipped the gym.

Maybe you planned to bring your lunch, but instead went out with your co-workers for a not so healthy lunch.

Maybe you didn't feel like cooking dinner so you grabbed something from the drive-thru on the way home.

You have two options here. You can choose to let those things discourage you.... to tell yourself you're a screw up and continue making poor choices.

Or, we can use these situations to learn. Ask yourself, "How can I set myself up for success the next time? What can I do instead?"

Now that I have two little ones at home, time is even more valuable, and it never seems like there's enough of it.

While it isn't exactly fitness related, I know that getting my to-do list done ensures that I can stick to my scheduled workouts. When I have a lot to do around the house (which is pretty much everyday haha), it really helps to set a 10 minute timer and just power through whatever needs to be done.

Maybe it's straightening up the house, answering emails, folding laundry... whatever it is, set the microwave timer and power through your task to see how much you can accomplish before that thing hits zero. 😉

Focus on the process goals and not the outcome goals.
It's about the little steps that get you to your end result!
Have you given your best to the situations you’ve faced today?

If not, take it easy on yourself and be kind. Give yourself a pep talk on how to re-engage in practices that will help you do better tomorrow.

If yes, then that is all you can do. You can't control your outcomes. Show up, do your best, listen to your body, keep a positive mindset, always be grateful, and don’t worry about the outcomes, but engage positively in the process.

“I'LL JUST START AFTER THE HOLIDAYS ..."

Have you ever said that to yourself?

Someone just told me this 
 right after we spent the last 20 minutes talking about her goals and why they are SO important to her.

Now I don’t want to call anyone out, but it’s time for me to put on my coach's hat.

I learned a long time ago that this classic “either-or” thinking does very little to help you reach ANY of your goals.

Because with either-or thinking, you’re either ALL IN or you are ALL OUT.

And let’s face it.

If you are going to “wait until the new year” to get started on your goals – goals that are important to you RIGHT NOW ...


 you probably are going to have quite a bit of catching up to do (because that’s what happens to most people who wait).

Your pants will fit tighter. You’ll be more tired and bloated, and even more importantly...

You’ll wish you had done something (anything!) to stay on track during the holidays.

And given the fact that less than 10% of people achieve their New Year goals 


Getting started “TODAY” is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

It just takes one small (but brave) step forward.

I say this with love because I’ve heard SO MANY clients tell me they’d wished they’d gotten started sooner.

Your future self in January will thank you for it.

And you know what?

You’ll get even MORE enjoyment out of the holidays while you’re working towards your goals 


because you’ll FEEL BETTER: more rested, more resilient, happier, and healthier.

I know this because I’ve helped hundreds of people embrace the holidays AND their goals at the same time with our program.

It’s a lot easier than you think.

One of the best things about reconnecting with family members and old friends is that it can remind you of where you came from – and maybe how far you’ve come!

As you reconnect with people you care about this week, pay attention to how YOUR life may have changed since you last spoke with them. If you journal, write about it. If you reflect, do some reflection. Are there things you miss and want to add back into your life? Or are there new things you are now grateful for? After all, reflection is the best teacher.

Does your warm-up help your body move well or just make you tired?

A good warm-up is more than just sweating and getting your heart rate up.

It should help loosen your muscles, align your posture, and prepare your body for the movements you're training during your workout.

One of our favorites is a cat-cow. It stretches the spine (and low back!), helps us practice shoulder stability, reminds us to tie our movement in with our breathing, and engages our core muscles.
