Hello, family and friends! Valle Escondido Golf Course needs your help. This beautiful course sits in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and has been a cherished part of the community since 1966. But now, a long drought and a growing prairie dog population are posing big challenges.

Congratulations to the winners of the Pre-Labor Day Tournament in Valle. In the Co-Ed division, Sam and Elaine Bright won with a score of 38. In the men’s division, Mark Johnson and Hayden Williams won with a score of -6. And a good time was had by all!

Congratulations to the 1st place Co-Ed winners in the Tartan Tourney, Tammy LaPage, Hayden Williams, Payton Williams, and Jon Schontz. They won with a score of 6 under par. Congrats and fun was had by all.

Congratulations to the winners of the Open Division in the Tartan Tourney, the three-man team of Danny Martinez, John DelMargo and Paddy Mac (last year’s photo) Mike Ferguson, their usual 4th team member had a bad stomach bug and couldn’t play this year. Being a three person team also meant they had three fewer mulligans making their score of 8 under extraordinary. We always enjoy seeing this team win. Congratulations!

Tartan Tourney is Saturday, August 8, in Valle Escondido. Register at 8 a.m., shotgun start at 9. Entry fee only $25, greens fees are $15 for non members. Wear a kilt or tartan, get a free mulligan. Lunch special of bangers and mash for $14.50. Call 575-758-3475 to sign up today!
