It's the time of the year for Yushinkan's traditional “Suika wari” (watermelon splitting). We commemorated Oishi Sensei’s birthday near his memorial bench in Tuckahoe. Evan Nava and Mark Bieri Sensei performed kata. There were attempts to hit the watermelon. Some had success.
