So I actually went and added "Do something that scares you" to my daily to-do list.

Turns out, this is super hard. Not because I can't think of things for the list, but because I have so much resistance to them. I keep cheating and marking it done just by doing something I'd rather avoid, even if it isn't actually terrifying.

I know logically that if I just face these things, they lose their power and I can move on to the next hurdle. I am still stumbling along and not feeling very brave, but knocking out those uncomfortable tasks is at least helping me get more done.

How do you tackle the things in life that make you afraid? Do you actually follow that adage that we should do something every day that scares us?

Most coaches underprice or under-serve not because their business model is broken, but because past wounds and negative mental chatter have hijacked their capacity to be seen.

When bad things have happened in your past—whether it's the sting of failed launches, difficult client dynamics, or old vulnerabilities exposed—your nervous system learns that visibility equals danger. That unintegrated trauma turns into a quiet, persuasive script: Who am I to charge this? If I put myself out there, I’ll fail again. It's safer to stay small.

That self-sabotage makes you want to hide, pull back from selling, and abandon the vision that made you start this work in the first place.

Take five minutes today to pause, grab your journal, and sit with these questions without judgment:

1. What is the specific fear or worst-case scenario playing out in my mind when I think about raising my prices, launching a new offer, or putting myself out there?
2. Is this fear based on a current, objective reality in my business today, or is it an echo of a past failure, rejection, or vulnerability?
3. If I trace this reluctance back to its root, am I actually misaligned with my offers, or am I just hiding behind a narrative of "it's not working" because it feels safer than risking visibility?
4. Do I genuinely want to walk away from the business of my dreams, or is fear just trying to keep me paralyzed at the starting line?

You don't need to overhaul your entire business model today. Often, you just need to separate the actual operational friction in your practice from the old stories your nervous system is using to keep you safe in the shadows.

What came up for you when you looked at those questions? Drop your thoughts or reflections in the comments.

Why your coaching offer or retreat isn't selling (Hint: It’s not the price tag)

When your offers aren't selling, it's easy to panic and drop the price.

We think cheaper means easier to sell. But usually, it just backfires.

When you slash your rates, people take it less seriously. They match the low price with low energy.

Instead of racing to the bottom, try these three things:

Check your math: Know your exact break-even number. Cover your costs, protect your time, and never price from panic.

Price the result: Charge for the big shift your clients get, not just the hours you spend with them.

Fix the message: If nobody is biting, it is rarely the price tag. Usually, you just need a clearer hook or a stronger vision.

Price for the real value. You will attract people who are fully in and ready to work.

Speaking of stepping away from the screen, remember why we got into this work in the first place.

New experiences are the only things in life that truly end up being worth it. That is why we are heading to the Sacred Valley in Peru for our next Human Alchemy retreat.

Think incredible food, jaw-dropping Andean landscapes, and pure adventure. No hustle, no workshops on mapping out offers—just stepping out of the daily routine and into something unforgettable.

So I started watching Shrill on Netflix recently—it's set in Portland and dives into a lot of modern social commentary. In one episode, the focus is on how exhausting it is for women to constantly be told they need to fix themselves, lose weight, wear makeup, and conform to a specific ideal.

It made me think about how much we hold back from showing up and sharing our work because we’re afraid we're doing it "wrong" or somehow harming someone else.

Back in my 20s, I tried selling makeup as a side hustle, and I struggled so hard with it for this exact reason. My mental roadblock was: I don't want to tell people they aren't good enough. I don't want to make anyone feel broken or like they need to be something different.

By my 30s, though, my perspective shifted. While those underlying cultural critiques are completely valid, I realized something important: it isn't my place to dictate what people need or want. If someone wants to buy, have, or do something, I can feel completely good about offering what I have. Me offering my work isn't saying you are broken.

We run into this same kind of friction in the coaching and practitioner space, too. We get fed these heavy narratives like: Healing should be free, or If you really wanted to help people, you would just do it for free.

Well, as many of you know, buying into that is a recipe for quick burnout on every level (if you know, you know). Yet we still carry so many quiet beliefs and old conditioning that keep us from sharing our work fully and unapologetically.

Shrill is so good at highlighting the messy contradictions of real life—how we want to be viewed and treated, versus how we actually treat others, and the courage it takes to just show up as we are.

What is one belief or old rule around your business that might be holding you back from sharing what you offer?

The transformative power of worry time:

Worry time is an amazing tool to help you stay focused, feel less stressed, lessen anxiety, and get active when you are feeling down and depressed. This is how it works: you set a time daily on your calendar that is just for you and your worried, scared thoughts to come out. You can sit and stress, journal, or do whatever worrying activities you need to think and feel scared and worried.

However, throughout the rest of your day when these negative thoughts come up, you tell yourself, "I hear you and I acknowledge you, and we are going to have plenty of time to think about that during worry time!" This has been a great tool for me, and I highly recommend it for anyone who has something causing them a lot of stress right now or who suffers from anxiety. It allows you to compartmentalize your stress, anxiety, and worry, giving it a voice and care, but not all day—and without being paralyzed or held back from doing other things during your day.

No matter what is weighing on you—thoughts about love, money, or health—so much of how we feel is centered around the thoughts going through our mind. By having a way to channel your protective, worried energies into their own special container, you can spend the rest of your day in a more carefree headspace that can lead to things like optimism, dreams for the future, and being present in the moment. It is a simple habit you can start implementing today that makes a big difference in how you feel and show up in the world.

Have you ever tried compartmentalizing your worries this way, or what is one thing weighing on your mind that you can schedule a dedicated time for today? (can you rewrite this to fit on BlueSky)

Travel Trivia

Cuzco or Cusco—have you ever wondered which one is right? Turns out, both are correct.

While the traditional Spanish spelling with a z is still the go-to for international travel guides, the Peruvian government officially switched it to an s back in the 1990s to better honor the region's beautiful Indigenous Quechua roots.

Such a cool little spelling shift with so much history packed into it.
How do you usually spell it?
(Cuzco with a Z or Cusco with an S?)

I think the most important and complex part of being an entrepreneur of the soul who follows his purpose and connects with the calling of his heart; is to persist.

When everyone around you thinks it's too risky, that you should continue to hold on to the security of a job that gives you a little in exchange for your freedom and takes away from your personal fulfillment, when everyone suits you or thinks they know what's right for you.

When you are looking for your zone of genius, while trying to learn new tools, take courses, read books, find what you are passionate about and many times it doesn't seem to bring you any results.

When your own mind or survival mechanisms try to protect you by keeping you in the familiar although reduced and in the safe although very limited.

When you want to stop, because you don't see the answer you expected, when you feel that what you have is not enough, when you feel confused!

bored, dull, off, and you think about giving up?
REMEMBER!

Remember that you are the creator and responsible for your life, and only you will face the consequences of your decisions and enjoy the results.

Remember that the trees you are observing, have put down their roots long before they are lush and blossom.

Remember that your own thoughts are often a repetition of the program you learned and are equally or less important than the external thoughts that in a matter of seconds will fade away.
