I-55 Recap:

First off, what a cool track I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park is!! I can't wait to go back. The night started off really well by setting QuickTime in hotlaps. I started 5th in the heat race but hit the snooze button on the start, so I fell way back. I climbed my way back to 4th and passing for 3rd when the car stumbled really bad across the line. It seemed to clear back up after the checkered so I figured it just loaded up with fuel.

Sadly this was not the case. When I pushed off for the feature the car was running awfully and would barely come up off idle. I pulled in and had to watch a very exciting feature from the infield. When we got home, we noticed the top of the #3 intake valve had broken. This will put the 67B out of commission for a couple weekends but thankfully the damage doesn't appear to be any worse than just the valve.

On a positive note, we will be racing this weekend! Stay tuned to find out who's car I'll be piloting 👀

We are fired up to go to I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park!! This track is been on my bucket list for a while so I'm excited to finally be able to make the trip West!

From working on the champ cart at 6 years old to prepping the sprint car today, I've always loved to spin the wrenches and learn about every car I have the opportunity to be around!

Pup Cup Weekend Recap:

We had a solid weekend at Bloomington and Paragon with 6th and 4th place finishes respectively. On Friday I timed in terribly at 25th out of 33. This put me starting 7th in heat one and finished one spot out of the transfer. Luckily I was able to transfer out of the B main into the A and start 17th on a very locked down Bloomington. After a long 30 laps, I charged to 6th to earn hard charger. Bloomington is a very tricky place and I feel like I went the wrong direction on setup about every time I hit the track but that's racing!

At Paragon we had a far better qualifying run going quickest in our group. I did not get a great launch in the heat but had a really fun battle with Brendan Mcglothlin and came out with a heat win. I drew the 7 for the feature and worked my way up to 3rd. I was better on the long run I felt but just never got the long runs I needed. I ended up coming home 4th.

Overall, it was a good weekend but I still feel like I'm lacking some race winning speed. I spent a lot of time this week going through notes and developing a game plan to be better this coming weekend!
