đŸŒ» This Week at Sunflower
What if you began the week by giving yourself an evening to simply exhale?

This Monday, you can create your own little mini retreat at Sunflower:
🧘 6:00 PM — Rest & Restore Yoga
đŸ•Šïž 7:30 PM — Metta Meditation & Sound Bath

Begin with an hour of gentle, restorative yoga, then stay with us as we honor the International Day of Peace with loving-kindness meditation followed by a deeply relaxing 45-minute sound bath.

A few hours to step away from the noise.
To soften your body.
Quiet your mind.
And perhaps remember that peace in the wider world can begin with the way we tend to what is within us. đŸ€

Our Metta & Sound Bath is $24 and is a special event outside of regular memberships and passes. You’re welcome to join us for either offering—or make an evening of both.

And after Monday, we settle back into a full week of the classes you know and love—from Morning Stretch and Yin to Sunrise Yoga, Mindful Hatha, Gentle Flow, Movement & Meditation, and more.

đŸŒ» Come as you are. There is a place for you here.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about trying yoga.
Maybe you’ve wondered if you’re flexible enough.
If you’ll know what to do.
If you’ll be able to keep up.
If there’s a class that will actually feel good in your body.

We want you to know something:
You don’t have to become a “yoga person” before you walk through our doors. đŸŒ»

Come exactly as you are.

Come because you want to move.
Come because you need to slow down.
Come because your body is asking for something gentler.
Come because you’re curious.
Come because you could use a little more breath, connection, or community in your life.

At Sunflower, there isn’t just one way to practice yoga. There are gentle classes and stronger classes, movement and stillness, meditation and special experiences—and teachers who will encourage you to listen to your own body along the way.

Swipe through to find a place to begin. →

And if you still aren’t sure which class is right for you, send us a message. Tell us a little about what you’re looking for, and we’ll help you find a place to start.

đŸŒ» Come for the yoga. Stay for the community.

Peace begins within. đŸ•Šïž

In honor of the International Day of Peace, we’re gathering Monday evening for a practice devoted to cultivating a little more peace—within ourselves, with one another, and in the world around us.

We’ll begin with 30 minutes of Metta, or loving-kindness meditation, gently offering wishes of compassion and peace to ourselves and others.

Then we’ll settle in for a 45-minute Sound Bath—an invitation to rest deeply, soften, and simply receive.

No meditation experience is needed. No special preparation. Just come as you are.

🌿 Metta & Sound Bath: An Evening of Peace
Monday, September 21 | 7:30–9:00 PM
$24 | Sunflower Yoga Studio

Sometimes peace begins in very small ways—a breath, a pause, a softened heart.

We’d love to share this evening with you. đŸ€

We have a full week of yoga waiting for you at Sunflower—from energizing classes to softer practices and plenty of space to meet yourself exactly where you are.

✹ Join Amanda on Monday at 7:30 PM: Breathe to the Beat + Sound Bath
We’ll begin with activating breathwork set to energetic music—an opportunity to breathe, feel, and move some energy—then shift into deep rest with a relaxing sound bath. A little activation. A little surrender. And space for whatever you need that evening.

All of our regular classes are happening throughout the week, too. Come practice with us. Come as you are. 💛

What if the pose was never the point?

For many of us, yoga begins with the body.

We come to stretch. To move. To breathe. To feel a little more at home in ourselves.

But the deeper teachings of yoga invite us beyond the shapes we make on the mat—and into the way we meet our lives.

Can we be present with what is here?
Notice the patterns of the mind?
Keep practicing without clinging to the outcome?
Become aware of the habits we reinforce?
Allow what we learn to change how we live?

The poses give us a place to practice.
But eventually, we get up from the mat.
And that’s where the rest of the practice begins. đŸŒ»

Swipe through for 5 teachings from the Yoga Sutras that have very little to do with poses.

Then visit the Sunflower blog to read our newest post, “Maybe the Pose Was Never the Point.”

What if the pose was never the point?

We come to yoga for all kinds of reasons. Maybe we want to stretch, move, breathe, feel stronger, or find a little more ease in our bodies.

And then, somewhere along the way, yoga begins asking something more of us.
What happens when we stop measuring our practice by what our bodies can do—and begin noticing how we are meeting our lives?

In our newest Sunflower blog post, Dawn shares a personal reflection on the deeper teachings of yoga and a realization that has continued to shape both her own practice and the way she teaches:
Maybe the pose was never the point.

The poses matter. The breath matters. The time we spend on our mats matters.

But perhaps all of it is preparing us for the practice that happens when we step back into our lives.

No special events this week. Just yoga. And maybe that’s exactly what we need.

A place to breathe.
A place to move.
A place to soften.
A place to come exactly as you are.

Sometimes the most meaningful part of a yoga practice isn’t doing something extraordinary. It’s simply returning to your mat — and returning to yourself.

This week at Sunflower, there are so many ways to do that. Gentle movement. Yin. Restorative practices. Meditation. Mindful Hatha. Chakra balancing. A little something for whatever your body, heart, and nervous system might be asking for.

And you don’t have to be flexible.
You don’t have to know the poses.
You don’t have to arrive feeling calm.

You just have to arrive. We’ll meet you there. đŸŒ»

Take a look at this week’s schedule and choose the practice that feels like yours.

This weekend, something we have dreamed about for a very long time became real. đŸŒ»

We officially began our first Pathways to Peace 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

There is something incredibly tender about the beginning of a journey like this. Six students walked through the doors carrying their own stories, their own relationships with yoga, and their own hopes and questions about what might unfold in the months ahead.

And they said yes.

Yes to learning.
Yes to practicing.
Yes to being beginners.
Yes to looking inward.
Yes to discovering what yoga might have to teach them — long before some of them ever teach it to someone else.

We are deeply honored that these students have chosen to take this journey with us.

Pathways to Peace was created from a desire to offer something that goes beyond learning poses, anatomy, and how to sequence a class. We wanted to create a training where future teachers could explore yoga as a practice of relationship — with their bodies, their nervous systems, their inner lives, one another, and the students they will serve.

Over our first three days together, we laughed. We practiced. We learned. We journaled. We shared stories. We asked big questions.

And slowly, we began creating a community where each person is invited to show up more fully as themselves.

There are many hours, practices, conversations, discoveries, and probably plenty more laughter still ahead of us.

But for now, we simply want to celebrate these six students who chose to step into this journey.

Welcome, Pathways to Peace Class of 2026. đŸŒ»
We are so grateful you're here.
And we cannot wait to see what unfolds.
