agnarok! Gravel has evolved and is bigger than ever. This has been fantastic ... but some of us long for the grassroots old days ... when you showed up, were scared but were with friends and didn't know what to expect. The early DK and LR were epic ... they were mostly unsupported, they didn't have easy bailouts, there were not huge corporate parties. You showed up with 100 of your craziest friends ready to ride mostly unknown routes with limited support. Fenrir Unchaind is that ... this is not for the faint of heart. You will tackle 145 or 210 miles of south central Oklahoma's challenging gravel roads. We won't release the course until Thursday ... as a nod to technology we will have a GPS file in addition to the course handbook. We will also give you the entire course at once, not as you make progress. There will be 1 (yep you read that right), 1 dropbag/support/aid area. You will see it at about 70 miles and see it again around 140. If you opt for the "short" version you just see it once. There will be no lead car. There will be no course markings except at places we think will be challenging. You cannot be resupplied on course except at the 1 oasis (see above). If your besties decide that they want to meet you at mile 40 with some goodies, they better be prepared to supply every other rider on the course or your day is done. This is old school, adventure, gravel as it was 10-15 years ago. Why would you want to do this? Well if you gotta ask it probably isn't for you and that is okay. Come hang out at the finish with us and cheer the finishers. If you want to challenge yourself, this may be one of the best events for you. Amazing course. Amazing people. Want more? Okay, how does $25 grab you? Yep Twenty Five Bucks ... that's it! What do you get for your $25? You get a great course, drop bag service, aid at the 70/140 stop. You get some food when you are done. You get some swag. You get a finisher thing if you finish. You want a shirt, a hat, etc? You can buy that ... we are doing our best to keep the price low and cover our costs. The event will be timed. We will have a 17 hour cutoff. Finish after that if you must (but really, midnight is late enough for our volunteers that will have been hard at work for days) but it will be unofficial. Old school!
