Happy Spring!

Do we have barn cats? Yes, we do.

This one, however, is not my cat. I definitely feel like I’m being watched…

Even the cats need coffee after the week we have had…

Starting off with saying all the horses are safe — The wind was not messing around this evening.

This was a first at Sun Baron Stables where the wind flipped an anchored down run-in shed. These sheds have been through several wind storms and not budged.

I am thankful to have cameras on property that allowed me to catch this unfortunate event basically as it happened.

I am even more thankful for my husband and our boarders who showed up ASAP to meet me at the barn and had all hands on deck. Team effort tonight.

The horses were unfazed and thought it was super fun having all of us out there and getting moved to new pastures while we got it flipped back over.

Shoutout to Avery Building & Barns as I didn’t even find a single nail pop.

This week we had an unexpected ER visit with our son during this rough viral season. Thankfully, we are home and he’s expected to make a full recovery.

In the middle of it, one of the horses decided it was the perfect time to break a fence…because of course.

There is truly nothing better than a strong barn family (and parents who pick up your other children and take care of them until you can get home amongst filling in the other spaces as well). The texts, the extra hands covering chores, fixing fence, and making sure everything at the farm kept running smoothly meant more than we can put into words.

We are so incredibly grateful for this community. Our horses are cared for, our farm is supported, and our hearts are full. Thank you for always showing up for us the way you do. 🐴

It’s extra frigid out today and tomorrow but there is something beautiful about clear skies and snow covered pastures. And to whoever invented ski goggles and sleds, thank you!

Horses all have salt blocks, heated water, and plenty of hay. If you choose to venture outside, stay safe on the roads and dress in plenty of layers.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! We are incredibly grateful for the new friends, barn family, horses, and animals that 2025 brought into our lives. We’re also thankful to have made several improvements around the farm thoughout the past year - none of which would have been possible without the support system we have. Below are just some of the highights, certainly not all of them.
