King and Cross Jiu Jitsu

Took a trip up north to work on some guard stuff with my boy appreciate all the knowledge 🥷
Keep an eye out if you’re into competitive grappling, he’s a menace at teleporting to the back

Got to rip the 450 with while we were out there, gladwin was whooped out 2/3 ft deep whoops and about 1ft deep sand the whole way 👺

Every other day it seems to be packed like this, it’s a blessing and a curse simultaneously, a double edged sword if you will

I’m caught in this middle ground where this gym is outgrowing my ability to grow, I’m only half way through my purple belt and honestly I wouldn’t feel comfortable opening a full facility until I’m well into my brown with other coaches helping.

Juggling earning my black belt while coaching a separate gym, while running a business & still tattooing daily has proven to be difficult. But these are burdens of success and I have to remind myself that this is proof I made it to a place I once desperately wanted.

Competition teaches us so much about the game. The urgency, the timing, and your ability to quickly and consistently make good decisions.
This is one of the reasons why I stress having a multifaceted game so that way you can quickly problem solve no matter what position you’re in.
Then on top of that you are dealing with someone who is 100% noncompliant and not willing to give up.

it’s really hard to re-create this in the training room alone, which is why I will always advocate for you to try out competing at least once through your journey
