Bear Valley Springs Residents,

We are pleased to announce that the Whiting Center will re-open normal hours beginning tomorrow morning, Friday, September 11, 2026

We are pleased to announce that all the HVAC units are working. The installation of the new digital thermostats and ice machine will be completed tomorrow and will not impact on your use of the facility.

As I mentioned in my last update the heating unit that provides heat to the Lobby, Restrooms, and Game Room and the four heating units located in the Gymnasium have been ordered and will be installed as soon as they arrive. We will only require a temporary closure of the Gymnasium when the installation takes place. This work to have little or no impact on the operation of the other areas of the Whiting Center.

Tomorrow, I want everyone to keep in mind that we still have some repairs and equipment that still needs to be replaced. Here is an updated list:

The spa is fully operational.
The sauna is currently not operational. We have received the replacement equipment and will begin making the necessary repairs sometime next week.
The new treadmills are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
All the fans in the Fitness Center have been replaced and operate using switches. Floor fans are no longer needed.
The new drinking fountain for the Fitness Center has not arrived. We are hoping to have it replaced by next week.
The scoreboards in the Gymnasium have been ordered and are scheduled to ship later this month. Once they arrive, their installation will require temporary closure of the Gymnasium.
Important Notice: Whiting Center Direct Phone Number

Currently, the direct phone number 661-821-6641 to the Whiting Center is not working. The lines need to be replaced next week.

To contact the Whiting Center, please dial the Association’s Main Phone Number, 661-821-5537 and asked to be transferred to ext. 876. If you reach the automated system, dial ext. 876 directly and you will be automatically transferred to the Whiting Center.

I want to thank everyone for your continued support, patience and understanding while we worked through the repairs at the Whiting Center. We know how important the Whiting Center is to our community.

Last call for pool day! ☀️

Today, September 7, is the final day of the 2026 pool season. Come enjoy one last swim before we close for the season tomorrow!

Lap Swim: 7:00–10:00 AM
Open Swim: 10:10 AM–8:00 PM
The Snack Bar will also be open.

All pool rules remain in effect, and lap swimmers must meet the qualifications outlined in the Lap Swim Etiquette Rules.

Off-season aquatics will continue after the regular pool season ends. BVS Aquatics Club lap swimming runs September through May for club members who have completed an orientation. The next orientation is Saturday, September 19 at 9:00 AM.

Weekday Water Aerobics will also continue in September from 10:30–11:45 AM. Fee applies.
