SHOW DAY
And just like that… 24 weeks of preparation came to an end. First, thank you to everyone who prayed for me, encouraged me, wished me well, checked in on me, and followed along with this journey, I truly felt the love and support.
I didn’t place at my show and while I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed, I am okay. Because when I look at these last 24 weeks I see so much more than a placing. I gave this prep everything I had. I showed up on the hard days. I stayed dedicated when it would have been easier to quit. I pushed myself physically and mentally, and I am incredibly proud of the determination it took to see this through.
I had the privilege of working with an amazing coach, Tyler Bedson, for the last 24 weeks, and I’m so proud of the progress we made. My goal was to improve and I truly feel that I did. Not only in my physique, but in my posing, my confidence, and my ability to walk onto that stage and own the work I had put in. But there was something bigger I wanted from this journey.
I wanted to share it.
I wanted people to see that you can go through hard things. You can struggle. You can fall down. And you can still get back up and build something beautiful from what tried to break you. One of the most special parts of it was having my kids there to watch me too.
They got to see their mom work toward something that was hard. They saw the early mornings and late nights, the discipline, the sacrifices, the days I didn't feel like doing it, and ultimately, they got to watch me step onto that stage and finish what I started. Having them there cheering me on meant more to me than any trophy ever could. ❤️
I want my kids to know that taking care of your body, exercising and fueling it is important. I also want them to know you don't have to be perfect to pursue something. You just have to be willing to work for it. That it's okay to be nervous. It's okay to be disappointed. It's okay when things don't turn out exactly how you hoped.
But you keep going.
You learn.
You grow.
You try again.
If they take anything from watching me through this journey, I hope it's that they know they are capable of doing hard things and that they should never be afraid to chase something that matters to them.
The division I competed in wasn't simply about transforming your body. It was about creating a healthier lifestyle, using fitness as a tool to overcome difficult things, and inspiring others along the way. When I look at these photos from the beginning of my journey, to the beginning of prep, to show day I know I accomplished that. ❤️
There were so many incredible women in my class who had their own stories, their own battles, and their own reasons for stepping on that stage. Their transformations were incredible but what inspired me most was knowing that every single one of them had overcome something to get there. I was honored to stand among them and even more honored to cheer them on.
Life isn't about winning every time. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. But there is always something to learn, something to be grateful for, and something to carry forward and that is exactly what I'm taking from this experience.
I'm taking the lessons, the growth, the confidence, the memories and the reminder that I am capable of doing hard things. Now I get to take everything I've learned and pour it into what I love most, helping other people realize that they are capable of hard things too.
This is why WF - Wellness & Fitness exists.
To help you become stronger, not just physically, but mentally and in every area of your life. Your journey doesn't have to be perfect. You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to take the next step.
Keep showing up.
Keep growing.
Keep becoming.
My story isn't over yet, and neither is yours.
Here’s to the next chapter.
