Find someone who looks at you the way I look at my weightsπŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸ˜œπŸ€£

Why am I smiling after leg day?πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

Because when you truly start to not only see results, but also feel them, it transforms the way you view things. For as long as I can remember, I have always hated working out my legs (no, that is not an understatement). I also enforce a strict no skipping leg day policy, which in turn has led to me sometimes taking an extra rest day on occasion when I didn't "feel like it" (I know, the shameπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ). But lately, my attitude has been different, so I've been asking myself why this shift in my attitude toward my least favorite workout day of the week?.

The answer? It's pretty simple, actually. In recent weeks, I've been more consistent by not taking extra rest days (especially on the days I really didn't want to do it); I've been drinking less alcohol (almost no beer, which means less unnecessary carbs); and I've made it a point to push myself as often as possible by increasing my weights, which has been HUGE!.

When you challenge yourself in a physical way, it also challenges you mentally. It's easy to tell yourself "I can't do it, that's too heavy, too hard for me to do right now." We tell ourselves that when we want to feel comfortable, because the comfort zone, is well, comfortable - it takes effort to get out of that. So when you go ahead and just add that extra weight for your next set of reps, or do the full move instead of following the modifier, and you find out you really are capable, not only is that a physical feat, but it's also you getting over a mental hurdle, overcoming an obstacle. And let me tell you, that feels really fu***ng good!!!!.

On top of all that, it helps to renew your excitement on your fitness journey, and create new goals for yourself to achieve. So next time you're feeling a little too comfortable, just fu***ng do the thing, and you will have the power! Happy FridayπŸ’ͺ😎

I remember even just a few months ago, it was a big time struggle for me to pull myself up even just 2-3 times in a row. It actually feels like forever ago. Now, I can do my 3 sets of 10 most of the time without stopping! That's a win, and a great way to measure progress! It's amazing what paying a little more attention to what you put inside your body, and simply showing up on a consistent basis can do. Suck on that COVID!!

We're all just wading through these COVID waters, hoping and wishing for things to get back to normal. The thing is, even when that happens, our normal will be different then what it was before. And now, for all the parents out there, we are being tasked with teaching our kids, most of if not all of the time, so it would be easy for us to throw up our hands, throw in the towel. But not you, not now, not ever! This is an opportunity for us all to grow, become better. So, why not do this together?.

I've had a couple people tell me I was crazy for starting my August accountability group during this, adding another thing to our plate, so to speak. But I disagree - investing in improving your physical and mental health is the best thing any of us can do now. Imagine if we all just gave up on ourselves, before even going through all this. Where would you be in 2, 3, 4 weeks from now? Would you be better off, or worse?.

This is simply just another challenge for us to conquer, and I'm looking for a handful of people to crush that obstacle together, with me. Like a team with the goal of not just meeting expectations, but exceeding them. In your garage like me, living room, bedroom, whatever - it doesn't matter, because done is done. Life is not a glamour contest.

So, if you're already feeling defeated, or just a little lost, let me help you. Let's come together and support each other in this challenging time. It's too hard going it alone, all the time.

If any of these words resonated with you, comment below or message me, and let's pull each other up, one day, one rep at a time! But don't take too long, I only have ✌ promo codes left to help you save $20 when you join. I can't wait to have you join me on this journey!

Something I heard at church on Sunday has really stuck with me this week.

The message was instead of waiting for things to get back to normal, let's focus on getting back to being better.

I know, since the pandemic hit us all with one of life's craziest curveballs, I have felt that way often - just waiting for things to change, get back to how they were. This message made me realize that, essentially for all of us, things will be very different, going forward. And now, in my case, great changes are coming that will alter my life, almost completely, and there's nothing I can do about it - that is my reality. Initially, I resisted, refusing to accept what's coming, what's happening. Waiting for things to go back to how they were.

And now I've come to realize, that I have a chance, a chance to be better: Be a better Christian, better father, better husband to someone in the future, a better coach, a better friend, a better listener, and so many other things. It'll be challenging, no doubt about it. We all have the same choice to make now - just wait and hope, or band together and take this crazy thing called life by our hands and make it better - for yourself, and for each other. And I for one, can't wait to see the amazing things we will all accomplish together. The same wind blows on us all, it's how you set your sails that matters.

Coach Wooden said it best. Something simple to remind ourselves of from time to time.

Didn't have my best stuff today. But on days like this, it's important you push through, especially when you're dealing with things or battling emotions. It's a way of showing yourself that you're gonna be ok, you have some fight in ya. So keep on truckin, reaching for those goals, no matter what they are, or how far away they may seem.

If you can't have fun with it, or laugh at yourself from time to time, then you're doing it wrong. Enjoy the process of the journey - the results are always worth it!

It was a great day to flex on Monday! Had an amazing Shoulders (aka "Boulders") session while rocking some Star Wars gear in the process, since it was May the 4th πŸ’ͺ.

If you want it, you gotta work for it! One day at a time - there's no other way. Be consistent, but also patient - the results will come. Happy πŸ’ͺ

8 years.

365 days a year.

That's how long this stuff has been my superfood go-to. Loaded with adaptogens, digestive enzymes, protein, phytonutrients & antioxidants (which boost your immune system), my once daily shake really helps simplify my nutrition. On top of all that, it's fricking delicious!.

Health is wealth people. These times are a reminder that true self care starts with what you put into your body. DM me if you wanna try it so I can send you some samples.πŸ‘
