Our loping crew finished the summer series strong! Alexis, Julie, Charlotte, Mia, and I had a fantastic Show 3—from seasoned show veterans to green horses loping through their very first classes. Everyone rose to the occasion, and we couldn’t be prouder! Thank you West Coast Ranch Horse 🤠🐴

🔥 WEST COAST RANCH HORSE SUMMER BUCKLE SERIES & VRH SHOW #2 🔥

What a weekend for our Redtail Ranch crew! I could not be more proud of how gritty this group was. Triple-digit heat, two long show days, while doing it all in full chaps to look their best — and horses that showed up for them giving it their all. 💪🔥

Every rider made HUGE improvements this weekend. Charlotte, Julie and I all stepped outside our comfort zones and into the VRH classes for the first time — and had SO much fun doing it! Kira also checked off a pretty big milestone with 3-year-old Ruffie’s first trip to town AND first horse show, and the two of them handled it like they’d been doing this all year. 🤠

🏆 CHARLOTTE COOPER & THIS WIMPYS DUN 👏🏻 TOP HAND CHAMPION 👏🏻 for the weekend competing across both VRH and WCRH classes!

Lots of bonus wins here that have nothing to do with ribbons — better rides, braver riders, young horses gaining confidence, trying new classes, and everyone pushing themselves just a little further than they did at the last show. ❤️

Very proud of this crew and grateful to West Coast Ranch Horse for continuing to bring these opportunities — especially VRH — to Southern California. We’re hoping there is a next one! 🤠

Thank you Brooke Louise Creative for the beautiful photos 📷 go buy some of your prints and help send everyone’s favorite show photographer to Spain 🇪🇸

I’ve been trying to gather my thoughts on why losing Dolly Parton has made me so sad.

I never knew her. I never met her. And yet somehow, it feels like we lost someone we knew.

In the country music-loving horse community, Dolly feels like part of our culture. She was the GOAT of country music—the voice, the songs, the rhinestones, the humor, the unmistakable way she could tell a story. She represented a piece of the world so many of us love, and it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that she’s no longer in it.

But what has moved me just as much is seeing how deeply her loss is being felt everywhere is that Dolly didn’t just belong to country music. She touched people from every walk of life, every generation and seemingly every corner of the world. At a time when it feels increasingly difficult to find anything we all agree on, somehow we agreed on Dolly.

We loved her.

Maybe it was because underneath all that incredible talent and larger-than-life sparkle, there seemed to be such genuine goodness. She never forgot where she came from. She could laugh at herself. She treated people with kindness. She gave enormously and often quietly. And she had this remarkable ability to stand firmly in who she was without making anyone else feel like there wasn’t room for them too.

There are celebrities we admire, and then there are people who somehow become woven into the fabric of our lives. Dolly was one of those people.

Today the country music world lost its Queen, but it feels like the rest of the world lost something too. A little bit of goodness. A little bit of sparkle. And one of those rare people who reminded us that you can be wildly successful, completely yourself, and still lead with kindness.

I think that’s why this one hurts so much.

There will never be another Dolly. 🤍 🦋
