ONE YEAR OF VŌLITION GYM

It’s been a wild ride to get here after last year but we are grateful to ALL of our community who supported us in ANY capacity to get here.

It’s already 1 year down in our own space. We cannot wait to expand on our business and what we do for our members. We have learned so much thanks to the trust everyone has put into us. Not only that but keeping us accountable and honest to the standards we set.

Maximizing your potential…

With WRIST WRAPS.

A confusingly controversial topic in some gyms for all the wrong reasons.

I’ll condense the argument here:

One side: Wrist wraps are cheating, just get better grip.

Other side: Wrist wraps help hold more weight so I can lift heavier weight.

The former…all ego. Your grip strength CAN improve like all things in the gym but it will likely always be a limiting factor…better yet. IT SHOULD BE.

Why?

Simply put your hands and forearms are considerably smaller and weaker than your back and legs (the two primary areas targeted when using wraps). So you should eventually NEED wraps.

If NEVER need wraps then you should question your ability to progress your weights. Unless you have super human grip strength and most people do not.

The gym is about IMPROVEMENT, not PROVING anything.

⬇️ Here is a tried and true approach: ⬇️

- Go wrap-LESS for warm ups and sets building up to your heavier sets. This will help continue to build up your grip.

- Once you struggle to keep the weight secured in your hands, then use wraps. Then you no longer have to worry about the weight slipping and you can just focus on the task at hand.

- Then absolutely demolish the weights and body parts you want while knowing you are training intelligently and not for some obscure pointless challenge.

Why SMALL GROUP?

Founder was a personal trainer for 5 years and after a while felt like something was missing from the personal training experience…

Individuals would interact as they come and go but due to the private nature of sessions they would rarely get to connect on a deeper level.

That’s when he started combining sessions to incorporate more people. Still he was afraid people would dislike the absence of “individualization”…

To his (and member’s) surprise, EVERYONE was immediately HAPPIER.

Not only did they still receive the attention and accountability they need from a personal trainer, they also just got to have FUN with likeminded members.

Then he realized the power of what community can really do and built the foundation of what VŌLITION would later become.

Watching people come together to work hard, support each other IN and OUT of the gym, celebrate wins and just be additional accountability has been nothing short of amazing.

More and more people are experiencing the difference and finding success in our training.

Today we had to officially sent off as a team member of VŌLITION. Luckily we got to do that outside the gym and soaked up some final quality time!

April helped us grow from 50 members to crossing over 100 since she joined us as a trainer. She helped create a welcoming, fun and authentic environment. Having an IMPACT on all of our members, not just those in her program.

We are very lucky to have had her part of our team here and we wish her the best of luck as she transitions careers and embarks on her future with so many exciting new things on the horizon.

We as individuals know it’s not goodbye permanently as we will continue to see her in other aspects of life; but as a team we have to say goodbye to her presence, which will be missed in our the gym.

April, continue to bring the energy you brought here into any new endeavor. We know you will be a light for those around you and as successful as your heart desires.

BENCHMARK.3

Order of Ex*****on.

Nothing is permanent at VŌLITION, it’s how we stay adaptable and keep our training engaging.

Benchmarks have evolved to best suit our members and our programs to ensure you are improving in MULTIPLE aspects.

For our 3rd and final benchmark of the year we have organized it to best suit everyone’s performance.

So now we will have 1 STRENGTH, 1 BODYWEIGHT and 1 CARDIOVASCULAR exercise EACH DAY.

This allows us to perform maximally for our strength, go all out in our body weight and have enough gas for cardio.

We are looking forward to watching everyone PUSH themselves!

[ The Power of Having a Routine ]

As we increase our responsibilities it can be difficult to feel that we have enough time for all the things we do. That is why we focus on a the simple concept of building you a ROUTINE.

Routines are powerful for the follow reasons:

🕰️ **Increased Productivity:** Say goodbye to chaos and hello to structure. A routine helps you conquer your day by setting clear priorities and keeping you organized. Having clarity in what you do each day reduces the amount you can procrastinate.

😌 **Reduced Stress:** Predictability is a stress-buster. Knowing what's coming next eases anxiety and brings a sense of calm to your life.

⏳ **Improved Time Management:** Make every minute count. With a routine, you can efficiently allocate time to work, play, and self-care. It seems obvious but until you plan effectively you don’t understand how much time you can be waiting.

🥗 **Healthy Habits:** Want to eat better, exercise regularly, or get enough sleep? A routine is your secret weapon for building and maintaining those healthy habits. This is a BIG part of what we do for our members and why they are successful.

🔄 **Consistency:** Success loves consistency. A routine helps you stay on track, making those big goals more achievable than ever.

🎯 **Enhanced Focus:** Eliminate decision fatigue and sharpen your focus. When you know what to do next, you can give your full attention to the task at hand.

We help you build a routine with our training days. Instead of just going “whenever” which is usually never a good “HOW” to show up week to week.

Build the routine, stay consistent and you’d be surprised how effective your goal setting and GETTING can be.

The proud look when members hit that elusive PR.

We talk about progression and how we work for it through out the year.

With Benchmark.3 coming up we also want everyone to understand we don’t look for PR’s across the board.

Quite frankly you probably shouldn’t be able to each time around, or at least eventually won’t be able to.

Beginners will see the most drastic changes in the first year or two.

Intermediate lifters (2-3+ years of consistent training) will find some of their lifts will get harder and harder to beat. With more focus comes more progression.

Advanced lifters (5+ years of consistent training) this population will have the hardest time seeing consistent progression as they have likely bearing the peak of their initial progression.

Now this does NOT mean you can’t progress, you can pretty much always progress with enough effort and consistency. It’s the focus and attention you need to get that progress is the challenge.

We don’t stress about that though, we just use our benchmarks to help you understand your effort and the return you get with that effort.

It also helps us create programs that drive progress for our members. We treat them like trainer progress reports. Then we can continue to help you stay challenged and push you to whatever that next level you’re trying to get to!

If you don’t have a measure for your training, then how do you know you’re truly getting better?

We eliminate confusion, confront our goals head on and celebrate growth together. No matter the pace.

About 4 weeks out from our most anticipated weeks at VŌLITION.

Benchmark is useful for us because it ensures our programs are helping you progress in the gym.

They are even better for our members because it provides direct feedback on your performance. This tells us a few things, how hard have you been working, how consistent have you been and how has your movement improved overall.

All of these factors are direct reflection of our efforts of a TEAM.

Benchmarks are great because energy is so high but they also help feed more energy for improvements as we aim to tackle exercises we want to improve on.

Progress and Performance are foundations of our programs here and we love sharing a week with members and show them all that they are capable of great things.

The brief moment between sets when you realized how far you’ve come…

Progression is such a unique thing in the gym.

It’s one opportunity that you get out exactly what you put in.

You can’t cheat it.

You can’t hack it.

You can’t fake it.

It’s your effort reflected directly back at you.

Which is a powerful thing when you reflect on it.

To have a direct feedback loop on your efforts allows you to be in full control of your results.

[ FOCUS ]

It can be a lot easier for us to maintain focus on our goals during the weekly grind.

Momentum is there, schedule is locked in and routine is fixed.

It’s easy to hit the weekend and throw the feet up until Monday.

Unfortunately this is where people can take a couple steps back.

We support a balance lifestyle and don’t believe you need to be rigid with your goals. That being said we still need to be MINDFUL of them.

So take that momentum from the week and roll it into the weekend.

Don’t be perfect, you won’t be. Just make sure you’re not acting against your desired end result.

A gentle reminder that self love is ALSO future preservation.

Stay focused, stay on track, and you no longer have to worry about spinning your wheels!

A lot of training now a days will be singularly focused. Building muscle, building strength, increasing mobility, or building cardiovascular capacity.

Focusing on one of these is great, trying to tap into more of them each sessions would be better.

We want to expose all members to different aspects of physical fitness to help them develop confidence and gain more knowledge about the gym and themselves.

We are not one dimensional beings so we do not promote training one dimension.

We want to build you up both physically and mentally so you feel more confident in training whether that be with us or elsewhere!

[ FEEL ]

We talk a lot about what we do here because we believe in our programs and level ex*****on.

Something we are pleasantly reminded of by our members and even our experience as coaches is the FEELING we get being in our gym.

We all have our days and to have a space we can enter as our selves but be accepted, supported and celebrated is pretty incredible.

Our members leave with a feeling of accomplishment and camaraderie. Those feelings are powerful enough to create ripples of change in their lives and even ours.

Creating the lifestyle you want can be intimidating and definitely difficult.

A lot of time the fitness industry creates this identity around physical fitness creating a larger barrier of entry.

This ALL or NOTHING mindset is damaging to the psychology surrounding physical health.

It’s the opposite, start with something. Just STICK to that something!

We are not here to make it harder.

We are here as a resource.

We are here to provide you tools.

We work to help you eliminate the barriers so you can see how accessible changing your habits around your health can be.
