We'll explore how staying motivated by maintaining consistency can lead to long-term results that align with your health goals. Finding ways to stay on track and committed, ensuring that you remain consistent for your health journey. We know both of these things can be fleeting so read our valuable insights and actionable strategies to fuel your motivation and maintain that important consistency in your fitness routine!

SMALL ATTAINABLE ACTIONS

Whether you are a seasoned vet or a newbie in your health and wellness journey it's important to set realistic and attainable goals that will align with your long-term success. You can do this by finding small goals to begin. So, let's say you want to start working out in the mornings vs the afternoons, but have been doing solely afternoon workouts for some time. Start setting your timer for the early morning wake up for a week or so before you commit to waking up early and just going into the gym. Set that early wake up goal and find yourself doing that everyday for 5 days, once you accomplish that your goal feels met and that leaves the dopamine wanting more success. Then the next week, set your alarm early everyday but challenge yourself to getting into the gym maybe 2 days that week, then the next 5. This small gradual increase will give you some better focus on the goal and again, keep you feeling motivated. Some people who find themselves feeling motivated for the change will set the goal and immediately act, which is great for some people but those who lack the consistency will want to have those small goals that are easily attainable, first!

[ OPEN GYM ]

As we continue to find ways to add value to make sure everyone is getting theirs each week.

INTRODUCING…

OPEN GYM WEDNESDAYS

3pm - 5pm

We understand we have a highly active and involved community and we want to make sure you’re getting the best training atmosphere and opportunities week to week!

Coach and will be manning the gym Wednesday evenings to help MEMBERS get that workout in that they might miss due to life’s inevitable ups and downs.

This will be an OPEN GYM FORMAT meaning no official coaching or class times but the gym will be open and yours to complete any workouts you may miss, or maybe get a little extra work in. We will be there for questions and general help you may need (like a spot, or form correction). 💪🏻

In addition…this will be an opportunity for you to schedule a time with Coach Derek to talk ANYTHING VŌLITION.

Scheduling, adherence, struggles, nutrition, programming, anything you might want to meet in person for mid week.

We will continue to find any way we can ELIMINATE EXCUSES and help you keep charging forward on your goals.

HAPPY APRIL

WOW! Benchmark this last week was one for the LEADERBOARD! We are so proud of all the members coming in and showing OUT. The leaderboard was a great addition this go around and we all could feel the friendly competition was at an all time high. We loved seeing the friends and some even family beating one another for those top spots. 12 weeks will be up before we know it so if you didn't make the board this go, there will be plenty of opportunities to get your scores up there. Which one do YOU have your sights on for next Benchmark? USE THAT as your motivation in classes, tell your coach so we can help nurture that growth. This is the way!

NEW OPPORTUNITIES

As we have mentioned, we are constantly trying to improve our day to day flow to better meet the needs of all of our clients and one we have heard continuously over the last few months is a makeup day. So, we are proud to announce a NEW OPPORTUNITY within the Gym.

Starting this week we will have an OPEN GYM on Wednesdays between 3-5pm

This is a time for clients to:
- make up any days you all may have missed during the week
- have a self lead workout within the gym, using the resources on your app
- connect with coaches on any form questions they have
- use this time for mobility or strength focus outside our general classes

This is just an added perk we want to extend to everyone. Nothing mandatory! This is something we think will help to continue providing that *overwhelming value* we want to extend to our Community! If ever we feel like the 3-5pm time slot doesn't fit our members needs we will reevaluate so please let us know your thoughts.

ACCOUNTABILITY CALLS

In addition to the new Open Gym hours, we are also excited to announce our NEW accountability calls. Starting next week, we as coaches have decided to provide our clients with opportunities to connect with us in both PRIVATE and GROUP settings.

- For our members who are already coming to us 4x a week, this is an added bonus to your membership. You are provided 1, 1:1 call with your trainer per week. This is at your own discretion, if you are someone who is looking for that additional accountability. This can be between the hours of 3-5 on Wednesdays if you're someone who prefers in person, we are happy to set that up with you directly!

- There will also be a GROUP SETTING option. These calls will take place over Zoom every Wednesday at 5pm. This is if you are looking to use your community for the accountability of your friends within the gym.

Whether you have a goal that is for in the gym or out, we want to help you find the attainability. Nutrition Goals? No problem. Running a marathon? Got you! Making sure you're getting protein or water goals hit daily? We are here for you! Keep an eye out for a separate sign up link email or text for these sessions, as we are working out kinks on setting up a calendar for these meetings directly.

We are all really excited to continue nurturing our Client/Trainer relationships and hope everyone feels excited to do the same!

Took some spills and scored some points!

Our KICKBALL game this last Saturday was a GREAT way to GET OUTSIDE and enjoy our hard work.

We loved seeing everyone who came out and worked hard as team to try and win 🏆

We love the gym, that’s why we do it, but we would be lying if we said we want to be there ALL DAY EVERYDAY.

Like you, we enjoy LIFE outside the gym too. Especially when we get to get some sun and move in FRESH air.

We like to organize different games each quarter to keep it FUN, FRESH and meet outside the gym as a TEAM.

Maximizing your potential…

With WRIST WRAPS.

A confusingly controversial topic in some gyms for all the wrong reasons.

I’ll condense the argument here:

One side: Wrist wraps are cheating, just get better grip.

Other side: Wrist wraps help hold more weight so I can lift heavier weight.

The former…all ego. Your grip strength CAN improve like all things in the gym but it will likely always be a limiting factor…better yet. IT SHOULD BE.

Why?

Simply put your hands and forearms are considerably smaller and weaker than your back and legs (the two primary areas targeted when using wraps). So you should eventually NEED wraps.

If NEVER need wraps then you should question your ability to progress your weights. Unless you have super human grip strength and most people do not.

The gym is about IMPROVEMENT, not PROVING anything.

⬇️ Here is a tried and true approach: ⬇️

- Go wrap-LESS for warm ups and sets building up to your heavier sets. This will help continue to build up your grip.

- Once you struggle to keep the weight secured in your hands, then use wraps. Then you no longer have to worry about the weight slipping and you can just focus on the task at hand.

- Then absolutely demolish the weights and body parts you want while knowing you are training intelligently and not for some obscure pointless challenge.

Why SMALL GROUP?

Founder was a personal trainer for 5 years and after a while felt like something was missing from the personal training experience…

Individuals would interact as they come and go but due to the private nature of sessions they would rarely get to connect on a deeper level.

That’s when he started combining sessions to incorporate more people. Still he was afraid people would dislike the absence of “individualization”…

To his (and member’s) surprise, EVERYONE was immediately HAPPIER.

Not only did they still receive the attention and accountability they need from a personal trainer, they also just got to have FUN with likeminded members.

Then he realized the power of what community can really do and built the foundation of what VŌLITION would later become.

Watching people come together to work hard, support each other IN and OUT of the gym, celebrate wins and just be additional accountability has been nothing short of amazing.

More and more people are experiencing the difference and finding success in our training.

Today we had to officially sent off as a team member of VŌLITION. Luckily we got to do that outside the gym and soaked up some final quality time!

April helped us grow from 50 members to crossing over 100 since she joined us as a trainer. She helped create a welcoming, fun and authentic environment. Having an IMPACT on all of our members, not just those in her program.

We are very lucky to have had her part of our team here and we wish her the best of luck as she transitions careers and embarks on her future with so many exciting new things on the horizon.

We as individuals know it’s not goodbye permanently as we will continue to see her in other aspects of life; but as a team we have to say goodbye to her presence, which will be missed in our the gym.

April, continue to bring the energy you brought here into any new endeavor. We know you will be a light for those around you and as successful as your heart desires.

Nothing is permanent at VŌLITION, it’s how we stay adaptable and keep our training engaging.

Benchmarks have evolved to best suit our members and our programs to ensure you are improving in MULTIPLE aspects.

For our 3rd and final benchmark of the year we have organized it to best suit everyone’s performance.

So now we will have 1 STRENGTH, 1 BODYWEIGHT and 1 CARDIOVASCULAR exercise EACH DAY.

This allows us to perform maximally for our strength, go all out in our body weight and have enough gas for cardio.

We are looking forward to watching everyone PUSH themselves!

This week serves us in many ways

[ PROGRESS ]
All true training surrounds itself on the idea of getting better. So we put our programs and our members to the test, further understanding where we can all be better.

[ COMMUNITY]
ALL classes come together and we support, push and celebrate all that we accomplish during our training and collaboration with each other.

[ INTENSITY ]
Change only happens when there is need for it. Us pushing ourselves together not only helps us individually to understand what we are capable of doing. It’s also an opportunity to see what we are capable of as a group of like minded people focused on improving.

[ BELIEF ]
We come together as a gym but ultimately your success is based on your individual belief. You must believe you can change, you must believe you can do more, you must believe you are deserving, you must believe you are good enough to make a difference. Both inward and outwardly.

We are excited to see what everyone accomplishes TOGETHER!
