A huge THANK YOU to Rugged Radios for its incredible support of the American Sand Association and our 2026 Polaris RZR Pro R raffle/fundraiser! These are the kind of comms a duner dreams about.
ASA could not fulfill its mission of keeping our dunes open to responsible recreation without the generous support of great businesses like Rugged Radios. Their commitment to the off-road community helps ASA continue advocating, educating and working to protect the places we all love to ride.
This RZR will be given away at the Sand Sports Super Show on Sunday, September 20, in Costa Mesa, California. You do not need to be present to win—but you do need a ticket!

🏜️ ISDRA ACCESS UPDATE — NDA 5 & BORDER RESTRICTIONS
ASA wants dune visitors to be aware of new federal access restrictions near portions of the U.S.–Mexico border in the Imperial Valley.
The U.S. Navy has established National Defense Area 5 (NDA 5) in support of military operations along the southern border. New signage is being installed prohibiting entry within approximately 60 feet of the border wall, and riders should obey all posted signs and stay out of restricted areas.
The important news for duners: At this time, NDA 5 does NOT affect access to the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area (ISDRA) — including commonly used riding areas, camping areas, staging locations, or normal travel routes within ISDRA.
NDA 5 has also been designated a No Drone Zone, with restrictions on drone operations in the area and potentially substantial fines for violations.
ASA is sharing this information so everyone heading to the dunes knows the rules before they ride. We will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates if access conditions change.

Know before you go. Obey posted closures. Ride responsibly.
