Throughout years we have had a lot of players and coaches that have come to put in work or to have just a place to work, or sometimes both.. Arizona World of Baseball has always been a home for guys who have been in, out, or just around the game of baseball.. players suffering from injuries or maybe have been released from spring training.. These guys are great with players until they move one to the next thing.. One of the best was a second baseman and one of Pat Kelleher closes friends, Jackie Rexrode.. Tragically Jackie passed on this day 2015 but he is survived by his sons Jaxon and Jaiden and wife .. Jackie was one of our very first instructors and coaches at Arizona World of Baseball.. At one of our first instructional camps, Jackie jumped at the chance to coach all the previously cut players and was eager to work with each of these kids.. Jackie was always full of positivity and always shared it with others.. Jackie played in the 2001 Arizona Fall League and led the league in hitting and in stolen bases.. No matter where he went all he knew was how to hit .300.. last year got to go to a World Series game with Jackie’s brother and their sons and .. In 2017 we made a special limited run of Jackie Rexrode Bats from Louisville Slugger... Now in 2020, we are happy to announce that we will be making REX bats from ash rock maple and locust.. Check back soon for more details..

Last week due to COVID-19 Pat Tillman Foundation (Official) decided to make Pats Run a Virtual Run. We have always supported in the past the efforts of the Pat Tillman Foundation (Official) having been part of the event every year. So this year we sent out our elite team (on IG) to covered the original race route and ended as close as possible to the finish line as they could. After that they covered the canals that the virtual run took place at this year. When they were out they saw so many other out there running for the best cause that’s there is.
Be sure to Be sure to check out our band of brothers Junior Spivey Darnell McDonald Chico Rodriguez and more players and coaches.. 🇺🇸 #42

On our 10th year anniversary, we were one of the first vendors with a booth in attendance for the first annual Pat Tillman Foundation (Official). Pat’s Run.. Now ten years later as unfortunate circumstances have led them to change the format of their event to the virtual run we be supporting them again!
We have many different ties to Pat but the one we would like to share today are the Hardtkes.. Terry and his son Brad J. Hardtke owners of Hardtke World of Baseball who has been friends with the Tillman family for a long time.. Terry coached Pat and his brother Kevin Tillman in baseball and football at Leland High School in San Jose, California.. Kevin went on to play baseball at Arizona State University and for the Cleveland Indians in the Minor League Baseball.. BJ who grew up with Pat and Kevin played independent Nothern League, then scouted for the Oakland Athletics.. BJ was also one of our General Managers.. He is pictured at a childhood friends wedding with Pat.. and another with his wife Rene and Kevin Tillman.. We used to be an Hardtke World of Baseball before our evolution into Arizona World of Baseball, this would never would have been possible without Terry and BJ and these NorCal roots, which always have been a home base for the Tillmans and other families!
With a wide variety of styles these #42 hats serve to commemorate Tillman’s legacy.. with a portion of all proceeds going to .. we are excited and humble for this opportunity!

What kind of pitcher are you? Are you a power arm who likes to attack hitters, or are you a softer, strike thrower who relies on weak contact off the bat? Regardless of which type you are, to be successful, you need to have conviction in your pitches and learn how to master pitch location.
In this clip, Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez explains how he made the jump from a young pitcher with a powerful, yet wild arsenal, to one of the games best pitcher who had conviction on every single pitch, and understood how to pitch within himself. He mentions in the video, that once he learned how to locate his two seam fastball consistently, he took that next step to becoming one of the games best pitchers to date.
Do you agree with what Pedro says about learning how to master pitch location? What is something you have done on the mound to help you achieve this? Let us know!

Are you an elite hitter? Do you want to be? What kind of drills do you do to make yourself a better hitter?
There are various methods of training your swing that you can do every single day. Most methods in fact don't even need a hitting facility to practice.
In this video clip below, the Baseball Tonight crew takes us through one of the few drills AL MVP candidate JD Martinez does every single day in batting practice.
In this particular drill, it focuses on not arm barring during his swing, as well as staying fully connected throughout contact with the baseball.
Do you agree with this drill? Let us know your thoughts, drop a comment below! Please like and share this video!

Just because school is back in session, doesn't give you an excuse to not train daily!
Try mixing in a couple dry swings or mirror work in between homework assignments. Every swing counts, whether it is in practice, a game or on your own! To achieve your goal of being a great baseball player, you need to perfect your craft everyday!
