The Eagles may have quietly made one of the more intriguing defensive additions of the offseason by signing former Bills pass rusher A.J. Epenesa to a one-year deal. 👀🦅

Epenesa’s free agency journey has been unusual. The 27-year-old initially agreed to a one-year, $5 million contract with the Browns, but that deal was ultimately rescinded after he reportedly failed his physical. Now, Philadelphia is giving the former second-round pick an opportunity to prove he can still be a valuable contributor on a championship-caliber roster.

While his 2025 numbers won’t jump off the page, Epenesa remained productive and versatile for Buffalo, finishing the season with 32 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 4 pass breakups, a forced turnover recovery, and multiple impact plays across the defensive front. His ability to contribute both as a pass rusher and in coverage situations makes him an interesting fit for Vic Fangio’s defense.

For the Eagles, this is exactly the type of low-risk, high-upside move that has become a hallmark of their roster-building strategy. Philadelphia doesn’t need Epenesa to be a superstar. They need him to provide quality depth, rotational pass-rush production, and insurance behind an already talented defensive line.

At just 27 years old, there’s also reason to believe his best football may not be behind him. If he’s fully healthy and motivated after the failed Browns deal, Epenesa could view Philadelphia as the perfect place to rebuild his market value heading into next offseason.

The Eagles continue to stack depth in the trenches, and if Epenesa can recapture the flashes he showed in Buffalo, this signing could end up looking like another smart bargain move by Philadelphia’s front office.

Jalen Carter is doing everything at the Eagles mandatory mini camp, individual drills, 1on1s, just not the team drills, where he could possibly get hurt. Remember he is coming off shoulder injuries and I’m sure the Eagles wanna make sure he is 100% healthy and good to go for training camp and the season. The Eagles are usually cautious with guys coming off injuries at this time of year. I’m sure they wanna make sure their most important player on defense is ready for the season.

Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Carter is refusing to take team reps at Eagles minicamp, with HC Nick Sirianni declining to say if it’s contract or injury related. 😮

Carter recently had his 5th-year option picked up for 2027, which would pay him roughly $27.1M. However, the All-Pro DT is now eligible for an extension, with Spotrac projecting his market value at over $100M on a new deal. 🤔

The situation has fans and reporters speculating that this could be a “hold-in,” where a player reports to mandatory minicamp to avoid fines but does not fully participate in team drills while contract discussions continue. 🫢

For now, the Eagles aren’t providing many answers. Something to monitor. Things will work out this is business… So Relax‼️🦅💚
