What a weekend for our squad at IBJJF Masters Worlds. 🔥🌎

Five of our ladies stepped onto the biggest stage, and we could not be more proud of every single one of them.

🥇 Jackie — “Gold Medal Jack”
WORLD CHAMPION. 🌎🏆
Jackie secured her first World title with 4 dominant performances. An incredible run from start to finish. 🤯🔥

🥈 Maria
In her very first Worlds appearance, Maria battled through 4 tough matches, winning 3 of them in impressive fashion and walking away with a silver medal. What a debut. 👏

Martha, Melinda & Kasey
All three drew extremely tough opening-round matches that truly could have gone either way. At this level, one small mistake or one tiny moment can change the entire match.

But there are absolutely zero doubts about these women. They put themselves out there, competed against the best in the world, and they’ll be back.

Next time, we fully expect to see them standing on that podium. 💪

Tomorrow starts a NEW WEEK at Legends!! 🔥

With the big summer competitions behind us, it’s time to turn the page and begin preparing for everything ahead.

And what a year it has already been. 🏆

Our athletes have competed all over, our kids and teens continue to bring home championships, and our women’s program has continued to prove itself on some of the biggest stages in Jiu Jitsu.

But we’re not finished.

🥇 In just a couple weeks, 5 of our Legendary Ladies head to IBJJF Master Worlds with one goal — bring more WORLD TITLES back to Temple, Texas.

We’re excited to introduce a more focused live training opportunity for our Junior Legends & Teens — every Friday from 5:00–5:30 PM!

Led by Coach Jisella, brown belt and active competitor, this class is designed to help students bridge the gap between learning technique and applying it effectively against resistance.

WHAT A WEEKEND FOR LEGENDS!! 🏆🔥

Once again, Legends is proving what sets our team apart.

Our athletes took the mats at two separate competitions in Austin this weekend, and the results were nothing short of amazing. I’ll try to condense a weekend with a LOT to be proud of. 😂

At NAGA, we brought a small but dedicated squad and still managed to finish Top 5 as a team in both Kids and Adult No-Gi with very few competitors.

That says a lot about the quality of our athletes, our coaches, and the work being put in every single week.

Our athletes stepped onto one of the toughest stages around and faced some of the very best competition.

Ariana Wightman, at only 11 years old, was selected to compete in an invite-only $1,000 superfight. Such a cool opportunity and accomplishment at that age, and we couldn’t be more proud of her.

Ynissa Wightman looked the best we have EVER seen her. She absolutely slayed an advanced division and walked away with gold. 🤯🔥

Two tournaments. Two different stages. A small army of athletes representing Legends and once again producing BIG results.

I’m incredibly thankful for every coach, student, parent, and teammate who continues to pour into what we are building.

And somehow, I still believe we’re just getting started.

Another amazing day for the Legendary Ladies! 💪🏆

Today they took the mats at the IBJJF Dallas Open, the final event before Masters Worlds in just one month.

🥇 Jackie – Gold! Two tough opponents, a couple of scary moments, but Jackie stayed composed and finished both matches by submission. She is on an absolute hot streak and looks better every tournament. The timing couldn’t be better heading into Worlds.

🥈 Melinda – As always, Melinda challenged herself by moving down in age. She opened with a victory over an IBJJF World silver medalist before falling just short in the finals against another elite competitor. A fantastic performance, and we’re already looking forward to chasing that back-to-back World Championship in a month.

🥉 Kasey – Battled through a tough opening match to earn a points victory. In the semifinals, a couple of small technical mistakes proved costly in a narrow two-point loss. The potential is obvious, and we have zero doubt she’ll continue improving and find herself on that World podium.

🥈 Maria – Started the day with an incredible first-round submission, putting her opponent to sleep in quick fashion. The finals presented a unique position we’ll be reviewing as we prepare for Worlds. She looked outstanding, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

🥇 Martha – Made the difficult cut all the way to roosterweight as part of her preparation for a run at her first World title. Unfortunately, she had no opponents, but the hard work was done, the weight was made, and the focus remains exactly where it should be.

The work doesn’t stop here. One month until the biggest tournament of the year. Back to the academy Monday morning. Let’s keep building. 👊
