Al Cappone is a 10-year-old sorrel stallion that was the 2021 BFA Derby Reserve Champion and has earned more than $76,000 on the barrels under two different riders. The stallion clocked two separate 16.9-second runs during a successful futurity season under Dustin Angelle. More recently, heโ€™s won tough pro rodeos under Shali Lord, including Loveland, Colo., and was the reserve champ at the 2025 Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo.

The stud is by renowned barrel racing sire Shawne Bug Leo, by Shawne Bug that had a speed index of 101 and out of an Appendix mare with a speed index of 102. Running an incredible 13.4 at the NFR is a feat in itself, along with being named AQHA/WPRA Reserve Barrel Horse of the Year. But Slick by Design has also proven himself an incredible sire.
