My apologies for not posting an update from World Championships. TDHS' team Syntax Error went 5-5 in qualification battles and was not picked for eliminations. Before you think this was a disappointing outcome, Syntax Error finished the season in the top 5% of all teams competing in high school this year (over 9000 teams). Regardless of performance, the opportunity to interact with students from other states and over 60 countries they would never have the chance to interact with was priceless.
Students are already planning for next year and WILL be back at Worlds next year... In St. Louis! Thank you to all of our supporters, you make trips and experiences for our students possible!

We're on a bus... At the airport. World Championships here we come!

TDHS showed up in force for the State Championships, with all three teams not only making the elimination rounds, but then Syntax Error faced Garlic Bread in the semi finals and won in a very close match. Syntax Error then went on to win their THIRD State Championship title (and the 4th in a row for TDHS)! Their win qualifies them for the World Championship in early May in Dallas!

It's State Championships time (they are all on the bus, we promise, they are just hiding)!

Today we made the trek to Eugene for a 45-team tournament and our rookie team comprised of freshmen and 8th graders, The Disconauts, took home the tournament champion trophy as the number #4 seed, upsetting the #1 seed in the semi finals and then the #2 seed in the finals! This win qualifies The Disconauts for the state finals along with Syntax Error!

TDHS took home their first trophy of the 2024-2025 season, winning the Excellence Award as the best overall team in the event last night in Oregon City. Congrats to team Syntax Error for their performance, and this qualifies them for the state tournament in March.

It's 6am and we're on the freeway in a dark bus... That can only mean one thing. It's robot fighting time again!

Our two teams are loaded up and on the way to the airport heading to Dallas for the VEX World Championships. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible with your support.

TDHS wins the Oregon State Robotics Tournament in back to back years with the same teams, with System Overload taking their third straight title AND their second straight Excellence Award as the top overall individual team!
Both teams will be representing Oregon at the VEX World Championships in April.

Two awesome results to share from today's tournament in Salem.
No tournament champs this time... But System Overload crushed the field in the skills challenge and took home that trophy and in the process is now the #1 team in Oregon in skills. Syntax Error did something really special though and for the first time as a team they received the Excellence Award, given to the best overall team at the event, which in this case was over sixty teams from all over Oregon. Another great showing overall from our students.

My apologies for not posting our obligatory early morning bus picture. Once again with feeling though here's a picture of the finals with a TDHS team coming out on top, this time it's Syntax Error coming out on top over sister team System Overload for the tournament winner!
