Payne Academy was established in 2001 to provide more than a recreational activity but a dance education.
We have a state of the art learning facility which includes 3 studios with sprung flooring and an observation area for parents. Our staff has a vast amount of teaching and professional performing experience.

Montrose-based dance school heads north with Woodlands studio Montrose-based dance academy, Vitacca Vocational School for Dance, is expanding its reach northward, as owner Kelly Ann Vitacca's dance studio and the the Payne Academy of Ballet become the Vitacca Vocational School for Dance Woodlands on Aug. 1.

The School of Pennsylvania Ballet is excited to announce the appointment of our new School Director, James K. Payne! Mr. Payne joins us from Houston, Texas, and is eager to get to know the families of SPB. His background as a professional dancer and an arts administrator will help SPB continue building upon its strong foundation, and continue producing beautiful artists.
“I am honored that Pennsylvania Ballet has chosen me to lead the School. With my experience building a successful school and passion for developing dancers as complete artists, I look forward to working with Angel Corella as we build the School for the future."
