1972 SMGSL league began play in 1972
1976 SMGSL moved to the fields near Budde Rd. and Pruitt Rd next to ORWALL since 1976. South Montgomery Girls Softball League was officially recognized by the IRS and Department of the Treasury on June 1976.
2001 & 2002 before the quad! University of Houston held a mini-camp fall of 2001 and Oct. 9, 2002.
2002 SMGSL voted unanimously for Texas A&M and UH to play an exhibition game here. @Richard Perez Was there.
2003 Connie May’s first affiliation with SMGSL was granted on January 3, 2003 by the SMGSL BOD -12U Texas Rage Select Team
2005 - 2007 New Quad fields and building built for SMGSL
2011 Spring Season Registration 120 girls
2011 Former SMGSL player, Texas A&M pitcher Shawn Andaya, became the first softball player inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame
2011 Former SMGSL players at the local The Woodlands High School: Lady Highlander 2011 Varsity Softball WIN Team’s class 5A State Championship
2011 August The Lady Highlanders were also honored for being ranked the No. 1 high school girls softball team in the nation by Powerade FAB 50 ESPN Rise.
2011 Fall season spiked to 370 girls – (registration fees were ½ price due to major donation provided by parent whose daughter got a full ride to college from her softball abilities)
2012 SMGSL initiates a Plastic Recycling Program to reduce its South Montgomery Count footprint

2012 SMGSL hosted 14 year-round tournament teams
2014 per Jan 2014 article Bryan Beaty and Joel Bartsch two dads’ dreams of a better facility have transformed into Scrap Yard Sports, a 75-acre sports complex on Robinson Road, with 17 baseball and softball fields completed or planned, an innovative take on artificial turf design, a 14,000 square foot pavilion and a whole lot of hand-me down equipment. They added Connie May to the team of SY Sports.
