With a sunny and breezy afternoon, Beach Wrestling finally made it to Thibodaux.

Thank you Sandra Fussell and the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex for use of their beautiful facility, for the use of the "beach" in Thibodaux.

I am grateful to be able to share this sport I love in all of its forms, and to live in a community that is embracing it with open arms.

Doors open at 4:30PM. Coach Sheridan will have rules review at 5:30PM, and wrestling starts at 6:00PM.

Bring the family to enjoy, we will have tailgate games, music, & concessions (snacks & drinks.) Please no alcoholic beverages, per facility policy.

Beach Wrestling on the Bayou 2.0 is NEXT WEEK! The excitement keeps building for the first event of its kind in Thibodaux.

Entry fee is $20 for USA Wrestling Athletes and $30 for non-USAW athletes. Payment will be collected during registration.

All participants 18+ must have completed SafeSport in order to participate. Current USA Wrestling cardholders should be up to date.

Cody Simmons returns to Groundworks Submission Fighting looking to get back in the win column. The Delta Training Center brown belt is a former GSF Featherweight Title challenger and a 12-fight MMA veteran who has spent years competing against high-level opposition. With a 1-2 record under the GSF banner, Simmons has consistently stepped up for the toughest challenges, and he’s determined to remind everyone why he’s one of the most dangerous brown belts in the region.

Standing across from him is Alex Duncan.

Representing NOLA MMA, Duncan made an impressive GSF debut, earning a dominant victory through relentless wrestling, top pressure, and positional control. The purple belt now looks to build on that momentum as he takes on the biggest test of his GSF career.

Both competitors thrive from the top.

Both impose a crushing pace.

But only one can dictate where this match takes place.
