Ted Hoffmann, a founding member of the Bayouland RC Club has passed away.

Theodore “Ted” Hoffmann was named the Frank Kennedy Citizen of the Year, an honor bestowed at the annual banquet of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce.

Owner of Hofman Music, the downtown store, Hoffmann has also been involved with a wide range of civic groups, including the Bayou Community Band, St. Genevieve Church and school and the Bayouland Radio Control Model Airplane Club.

Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Bayouland RC Club Family Day Crawfish Boil event brought together members and their family’s for a great day of excellent food and fellowship and flying!

The Bayouland R/C model aircraft flying club is an organization that provides a place for members to come together to enjoy their common interest in model aviation. We are hobbyists who dream, design, build, and fly model aircraft of all sizes for fun. Come out and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts, we love flying, and we want to see participation in our hobby grow. We always welcome visitors! If you are interested in flying model airplanes, helicopters or drones come out and join us for weekend flying on Saturday and Sundays from 9 to 12 at the clubs flying field at 349 Sixty Arpent Road, Thibodaux, LA. Remembering the past good times spent with our beloved friend Robert Bobby Hoffmann!

Step back in time with us! In 2001, our dedicated club members transformed an empty space into a thriving flying site.

The Bayouland RC Club acquired its current flying site in 2001. Club members came together to start prepping the field and erecting the canopy. The storage building was constructed in 2002.

It is with great sorrow and deep regret that we announce the passing of Robert Bobby Hoffmann, President of Bayouland RC Airplane Club. His unwavering commitment to the club was unmatched, and his camaraderie will be deeply missed. Fly high, blue skies and calm winds for our beloved friend Bobby.
