If you're looking for a reason to train today, here it is. (READ THE WHOLE THING AND SHARE.)
Twenty-five years ago today, we lost nearly 3,000 Americans in a single morning. Take a moment to sit with that. Now imagine it was your own family β a parent, a spouse, a child who simply went to work or boarded a flight and never came home. That's not an abstract number. That was somebody's everything.
We honor the men and women who serve and sacrifice for this country at all times, every single day β but today carries a special weight because of the scale of what was lost. In the years since, thousands of young Americans have answered a call most of us will never fully understand, carrying the weight of decisions and consequences far beyond what any of us ask of ourselves day to day.
We owe those who serve a debt we can never fully repay. Their sacrifice is why we still get to walk through our own front doors every morning.
Train in whatever fashion you can today, and make it part of your daily habits β whether that's getting out for some physical fitness, getting to the range for some trigger time, or showing up to the mats. Do something today to make yourself more capable.
And if you ever forget why it matters, look at this image and remind yourself: we are never as far from danger as we'd like to believe.
