Rose City Barbell Club

Rose City Barbell Club A strong community devoted to working hard on our health and fitness and being better everyday. 💪💙 We work out together and get stronger together.

Since 2012, we’ve been supporting our members at RCBC to start their fitness journey or take it to the next level. There are no mirrors, machines or treadmills here, just barbells, dumbbells, pull-up bars, kettle bells, jump ropes and more. This is more than a gym: Our gym is a supportive community where everyone knows each other. One member’s success belongs to us all, and that mutual support is what drives us to achieve more than we could on our own.

This morning meant a lot to us. ❤️

Thank you to every single person who came out and spent part of their Saturday with us for a 5K ruck in support of The Treehouse Children’s Advocacy Center.

To those who sponsored, donated, volunteered, helped behind the scenes, invited a friend, showed up early, or simply showed up and walked alongside us — thank you. We don’t take any of it for granted.

The Treehouse holds a special place in our hearts because of the work they do for children and families right here in our community. They step in during some of the hardest moments a child can face and provide the care, support, and advocacy they need. We believe deeply in what they do, and we’re grateful we could play even a small part in supporting their mission.

But more than anything, we’re just proud of y’all.

One of the best things about this gym has always been the people in it. You show up for one another, and when there’s an opportunity to show up for something bigger than ourselves, you do that too.

We’re incredibly thankful for every person who helped make this morning special. Thank you for giving your time, your energy, and your heart to something that matters.

We’re blessed to call this our gym community. 🫶

Strength can be more than physical. It can be a way to reconnect with yourself, build awareness, and create space.

This morning, RCBC hosted a Trauma-Informed Weightlifting (TIWL) fundraiser led by Dr. Meagan Chisholm — licensed professional counselor, CF-L2, and TIWL-certified coach.

Over 90 minutes, we approached weightlifting a little differently.

We began with a body scan - checking in with each part of the body, our breath, and how we were feeling in that moment. From there, we used ground-up activation to warm up before moving into back squats and a pushing/pulling circuit featuring shoulder presses, burpees, and bent-over rows.

Throughout the session, everything was individualized. We modified weight, pace, range of motion, and movements as needed. The goal wasn’t to push through for the sake of pushing through. It was to listen, adjust, and find what worked for each person - therapeutic dosing.

Some of the phrases that stayed with us:

“You’re an expert on your own body.”
“Pushing away negativity.”
“Drawing support closer.”
“Pulling yourself back together.”
“Imagine creating space between you and the floor.”

We finished with easy, reflective conversation and box breathing to close out the session.

What I loved most was watching everyone move with curiosity - learning to listen to their bodies, make adjustments, and recognize that there is more than one way to be strong.

Thank you to Dr. Meagan for sharing her knowledge and creating such a thoughtful experience, and to everyone who showed up, participated, supported the fundraiser, and made space for this conversation.

Strength looks different for everyone. Sometimes it looks like lifting something heavy. Sometimes it looks like knowing when to lighten the load. ❤️💪

Congratulations to the three RCBC athletes who represented us today at Golden Days 2026 at Forged in Moultrie!

🥇 John — 1st place, Male 55-64
🥈 Gina — 2nd place, Female 55–64
🥈 Meagan — 2nd place, Female 35–44

They tackled it all — thrusters, burpees, toes-to-bar, farmer’s carries, rowing, bear crawls, biking, and sandbag cleans. 💪

The’re incredible examples that age is only a number when you’re willing to work hard, challenge yourself, and keep showing up.

We couldn’t be prouder of these three! Thank you for representing Rose City Barbell Club so well! ❤️🖤
