Santa Rosa Valley couple add creative to golf tournaments
Santa Rosa Valley couple help bring style to clients' events

Think back to the coolest golf gift you've ever gotten from playing in a charity event or pro-am.
Whether it was a bag tag, a useful backpack or a watch with the tournament logo on the face, there's a good chance Brian and Lori Creps had something to do with providing it.
The Santa Rosa Valley couple are owners of Creative Concepts Golf, Inc., a company that provides stylish and creative gifts for a wide range of clients both in and outside of the golf business.
Since founding the company in 2003, the couple has earned a reputation for providing quality products and personal service to country clubs, resorts and professional tours all over the world.
Their local clients include Wood Ranch Golf Club, Sherwood Country Club, North Ranch Country Club, Sunset Hills Country Club, Spanish Hills Country Club, Moorpark Country Club and Calabasas Country Club.
"Our job is to help our clients to look like champions because people are so floored by the gifts they receive from taking part in their event," Lori Creps said. "Since we've been in business, our customers have discovered we're going to do whatever we need to do to help them shine and in turn those clients generally become customers for life."
Brian and Lori have been involved with the golf industry for over 20 years.
Brian is a PGA professional who spent a good portion of his golf career working at high-end golf resorts, such as Marriott's Camelback Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Prior to the couple founding the company, Lori was in the golf gift industry with another company. She honed her skills as an administrator and a salesperson. Her easy-going nature and passion for her customers and golf proved to be a winning combination.
The couple met when Brian was putting together the grand opening event at Camelback, and from there the relationship grew.
After being frustrated with the inability of her company to expand its ideas, Lori and Brian decided to start their own company.
"I think our backgrounds and skills are a good match," said Brian, who is also the head golf coach at La Reina High. "It's a relationship business and between Lori and I we have a good reputation with people throughout the golf industry. I think our golf experience has given us a lot of credibility with customers and then once they have seen what we can do, they are sold on us."
While their customer service has been a cornerstone of their success since they started, another key element to keeping and gaining customers is the company's ability to continually come up with innovative products.
Thanks to their ongoing relationships with a variety of manufacturers, the Creps can offer clients any kind of product they would like to have carry their logo.
Brian said his golf experience helps him make sure he gets the clients what they need.
"I'm not going to sell them something that I know won't fly because I've been in their shoes before and know how important it is to do it right," Brian said.
"A lot of times the client will ask us, 'What's new?' " Lori said. "They count on us because they know we know what is new and we're on the leading edge. Basically anything they want we can either find or create."
When the wife of the late Frank Sinatra came to the company and asked for crystal records to give away for her awards at the Frank Sinatra Invitational, it was a request the couple had never had before.
Brian and Lori were able to find one of their manufacturers to create the crystal records.
Meeting those kind of unique challenges can sometimes be a bit stressful. But the Creps agree being able to get creative and come through for a client is also a lot of fun.
"We like to do business with people who are as passionate about their side of the business as we are about ours," Lori said. "It makes for a more interesting and fun way of dealing with each other. It makes work more fun. Oftentimes we become friends with customers who we have that kind of relationship with."
While they are busy year-round doing events, things get much busier around when the golf season starting. This week the couple is heading to Orlando for the annual PGA Show, the largest golf trade show in the world.
"The show is our chance to get our five minutes in front of customers and show them what we are all about and what we can offer," Brian said. "It's a very competitive business, but we really enjoy it."
