We hope you’ve made plans to join the ATA Eastern Zone at the NYSATA Homegrounds! There is $2,000 added to the modified Lewis on every 100 targets, shooter appreciation dinner and a Wi******er shell shoot-off this evening. This is a shoot you don’t want to miss!

Thanks to everyone who attended the 2026 Maryland State Shoot! The weather forecast may not have looked great but we ended up having great shooting weather all week!

If you made the trip out, there were a few new things this year, in addition to our past successes. We continue with the delayed start times, the Bob & Marian Knode trophies ($400 silver) to the winners of Thursday and Friday’s handicaps, and encouraging pre-squadding via SOS Clays. Additionally, Wi******er/White Flyer agreed to continue in the free give-away of ten cases of Wi******er AA’s throughout the tournament. A few new things we are doing this year are the SOS Silver Shootout, free hog BBQ and taco dinners, and $1,000 added to the 50 Bird Handicap’s option (courtesy of CRV Custom Arms). Thank you to all our sponsors.

Another new thing this year was Frederick Young Life's help. They provided some much needed relief to our key member clubs. A huge thanks to North Carroll, Tuscarora, Metro, Millington, Carroll County, Patapsco Junior Marksmen, and the C**n Club for their continued efforts and making our Homegrounds run. Further thanks goes to Carney, Carroll County, North Carroll, Metro, and Patapsco Junior Marksmen for making the office run.

After shoot-offs on Saturday, two well-deserving candidates were inducted in the Maryland Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Cassie Hammond has amassed an impressive resume of awards across the country and devoted many years of service to the Tuscarora Gun Club, Tri-State Trap League, and MSSA. She also joins her father, Richard "Moose" Sharrer, as the first parent-child duo to be inducted. Ernest Henry has contributed for more than five decades; he has served as Metro Gun Club's President for 25+ years, Delegate for 35+ years, and was instrumental in Metro joining the ATA. He has worked tirelessly to support Maryland trapshooting and has accrued many impressive awards on his own.

Congratulations to all the winners! David Zeigler, Joanna Crouch, and Justin Slater won Bob & Marian Knode awards in Thursday and Friday Handicap winners. Cole Cervantes won his first Maryland title with the Singles title. Congratulations to Nick Hughes on the Doubles, Handicap, HAA, and HOA titles. John Baum shot his 50,000th Doubles target during the Doubles Championship. Brian Snyder earned his 27 yard punch during the 50 Bird Special Handicap. Rob Kemp and Rick Unruh won silver in the SOS Clays Silver Shoot-out. Great shooting to all!!

If you missed the fun, we hope you will join us at the Fall Handicap, 5-6 September. This shoot is a great opportunity to get up on your target count for next year's tournaments!
