The goal of hand exercise in PD should be functional movement, not simply a stronger squeeze. Activities that challenge dexterity, speed, coordination, finger extension, and purposeful opening of the hand may better reflect the skills needed for tasks such as buttoning clothing, typing, handling utensils, writing, or picking up objects.
To improve your hand dexterity, you can practice the same exercises that drummers and other musicians use to warm up their hands before they play. Click below to watch my latest video and give them a try!
